BigBosss,

Let's wait until the next gen consoles launch before saying they don't have a lot of games.

I believe it's closer to 50% difference, not 15%:

I can see MS taking a 20-30 dollar hit on the series x, but not over $100. I'm expecting $599.99 at launch. Keep in mind, MS doesn't need you to upgrade now, so as long as you have an xbox one, you're set for the next year post series x launch. The moment pre orders open, i'm getting both. Getting a 4k TV this year and cannot wait to hook these monsters up.

I'll explain.. You mentioned looking forward to age of empires and MS flight simulator, and you have a PC, which means you can play those games without MS having to take a monetary loss on the series x. If you have a PC, Microsoft would rather you play there instead of purchasing a console.

Ain't that the truth

That's the beauty of it, you don't! How about I get one instead because I don't have a Windows pc :)

You are MS's ideal customer then. Keep on doing what you're doing. :)

I think he's saying that people will expect all the big 3rd partt games will go to gamepass so people will stop buying those games. It's a silly notion that's already been proven false.

You're both right.

Just because Sony hasn't announced their plans yet, doesn't mean they are going to scrap all of their GDC content. A lot of work went into that and Sony and their devs should get that opportunity to showcase their stuff. They are probably just scrambling like everyone else is trying to figure out the best way to get that content out.

Fanboys are trying to sweep that line under the rug because it doesn't fit their agenda. Looking forward to Microsoft's GDC content this year. I'm sure sony will do something similar. Have they announced anything yet?

Ok, so Microsoft is still doing something for game developers, it's just being moved to a digital platform:

"In light of this, we plan to move our presence to a digital-only event March 16-18th held on www.microsoft.com/gamestack. This event will feature the majority of our planned game developer sessions and experiences, which will be streamed live and available on demand".

Coronavirus Cases (JUST FROM THIS YEAR) 82,787
Deaths: 2,817 (again, just from the last 2 months)
So far 16,000 people have died and 280,000 people have been hospitalized during the ENTIRE 2019-2020 flu season. Right there should tell you how scary the corona virus is.

Let's say the virus keeps to that trend. That means that in 1 year, the corona virus could have killed 16,902 (a little more than the flu). And that's KILLED, not infected...

Waverider,

I think that you have to consider the possibility of the Lockheart console that has been MS's worst kept secret. If Lockheart is targeted at the casual audience, we may see a launch landscape like this:

Xbox Series S (Lockheart) - $349.99
Sony Playstation 5 - $499.99
Xbox Series X - $599.99

I mean, I think you just have to have trust in the studios and teams that MS has acquired based from their past gaming efforts. Each of the new acquisitions MS made were made specifically to fill a gap in MS's 1st party portfolio. We can go into this next generation knowing that Microsoft will have not only increased 1st party support compared to this gen but also a much more diverse one.

RosweeSon, you're completely missing the point. YOU aren't suppose to upgrade to the series X. Microsoft would much rather you use your current system instead of taking a monetary loss on each series X sold. Microsoft cares less about where you play their games (PC, Console, XCloud) and more about the money they make from services like Xbox live and Game Pass. That's their bread and butter now, NOT console sales. So upgrade or don't.. they don't care, just keep playing the...

I would consider Halo Infinite, Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon and whatever game playground has been working on, all AAA games.
