Was the game not HDR for the S and X already? Also, are all of these fixes on console also? Thats the problem with articles like this. If you dont specify which fixes happened on what platform... Do the higher detailed, higher resolution textures also make their way to the X also? Further draw distance?
The article states the size of the updates for each platform, but not if all of these fixes happen across them.
If anything, the X is good news for original system. Just as high end PC gaming is awesome for the X. Because they are all in the same ecosystem, developers can copy and paste from high end PCs to the X and then to the base system. Pushing each to its max, before framerates start to buckle.
The PCs best allows the higher end textures, which most developers would probably forgo making without high end PC gamers, to make their way over to the X. Which makes the higher resolut...
Got to love Gen X gamers getting public offices! Hope he can get it passed.
How about a Pro/ X patch while you are at it. This game would be incredible with the extra power from the more powerful consoles behind it... With all of the support that theyve given this game since its release, you would figure it would be a no brainer.
I actually like this game. Its not the best NFS, but its fun. They do a good job of keeping the player involved with the story and the story drives the gameplay. With side races and missions driving the games economy, so that players can upgrade their rides and garages to help them in the main missions. Not to mention, you can find beat up, broken down versions of cars that you can upgrade and paint to bring them back to or better than their former beauty... which also ties in to the economy...
Exactly. As long as BC titles can benefit from the new hardware, I see no problem keeping it a thing. Its always hard to go back and look at older software, after seeing through the eyes of the newest hardware. Though, when that older software can take advantage of the new hardware... it can make it look near as good as the latest titles. Especially if Microsoft keeps unlimited mods around for games that support them. Because then, developers dont have to be the ones updating the older games....
600,000 plus consoles sold( https://www.dualshockers.co... ) in its first few weeks on the market proves/ proved this article wrong. Obviously gamers are fine with having high end PC versions of current and future games. Will this kind of trend continue? I think so, as it doesnt look like the next generation is happening until 2020. So the X has 3 years to shine. I think yearly cellphone adoption...
I own both and both have their strengths and weaknesses. X is more powerful and has a more defined leap, visually, than the Pro. Not to mention, the UHD drive, which alone is worth more than the $100 boost to price. The downside being that Microsofts first party game library is weak in comparison.
Sony has the game library and the çheaper machine, but doesnt have the power or the UHD drive. Do games look good on the Pro? yes. Especially first party titles. Though, that...
According to Microsoft, their future is in backwards and forward compatibility... so I see every system from here on out to be iterative. Another half step up from the last. Remaining compatible across the board. I dont think they can go nuts with a radically new hardware design, if thats the case. So something like a new X every 3-4 years.
Sony, on the other hand seem torn. With one person in the company stating that they will keep the console generations separated and ano...
Hell yea. Perfect timing, got a $100 gift card yesterday and between the two sales(pre black friday and this) I got:
Final Fantasy XV - $15
Ghost Recon Wildlands - $25
Homefront - $10
Mafia III - $15
Middle Earth: Shadow Of War - $35
The Witcher 3: Complete - $20
These games are going to keep my Xbox One X happy for quite some time.
Thank you Microsoft, for the incredible deals so far this we...
No thank you. The thought of paying $60 for a 6 hour single player game still pisses me off. The solution is simple: split single and multiplayer... charge $30+ for each and anything extra is charged extra for. That way, people who dont play multiplayer get only what they want and the same goes for those who just play multiplayer. DLC single player content is charged for accordingly and the same goes for multiplayer content. That way, if a developer wants to make more on a game... they make ...
Is anyone else really irritated that there is no single player? The game looks awesome... but, if you dont like playing online...
Ive recorded 5 hours worth of 4K HDR footage via the Xs DVR and havent had any issues. External harddrive interface? Speed? X overheating? Bad cable?
Not sure what is causing the issue on their end, but Ive had no issues doing the same.
Yep. This is the first generation Ive ever done that. PS4 at the start of the generation, Pro last year and two Xs(One for upstairs, one for down). I love having the best of both worlds. The Playstation exclusives, along with Xbox exclusives and power of the X for third party titles.
I love that these mid generation upgrades came our way, as I tend to get frustrated and bored in the middle of a generation due to the aging hardware and the way developers tend to copy and pas...
Would definitely love to see Battlefield 1 and Dying Light get X enhancement. Both should easily be able to do native 4K and get PCs 4K textures. It would be cool to see Dying Light get a 1440p 60fps option. Though, seeing as they never made a patch for the Pro... I doubt they are going to do it for the X. Battlefield 1 I still have hope for.
WWE 2K18 is not enhanced, even though it says it is. There is no resolution bump and no 4K textures. Its the same as it is on the base system. Maybe with a slight framerate bump, but other than that I saw nothing changed.
Im hoping next gen starts with a base and high end model. That way casuals can get in on the low end and enthusiasts can get their fix. Base model at $399, Pro at $499-$599 with X like high end features. Both play the same games, one with mid range visuals, one with ultra.
Id go with the ultra model. That way everyone gets the system they want or can afford and nobody is left behind. Still with the console ease of use, but with PC like choice and features.
I was playing it all day and while her back story should have been laid out a bit, it doesnt affect the story all that much. Its kind of laid out like the original sequels(4, 5 and 6), where you learn bits and pieces as you play and get more of the story. Though, it would have been nice to have a movie(cutscenej before the games start that summed up who she is and her connection to the empire.
I like the Jedi tie in, it helps bridge the gap and gave me one hell of a nostal...
I dont think they shouldve made it a next generation console in the classic sense, though I do feel as if it is very close to that generational leap. What I feel, is that Microsoft should allow developers to make games specifically for it... use all of its power from the ground up, yet still require the same game to run on the base units. Treating it like a true next gen console, but with that benefit of backwards and forwards compatibility. Which is what I think they are trying to do. They j...
Awesome.
