This is absolutely true. Game development has gone through the roof, cost-wise. Every IP and especially new IP is a big risk. It is easier and more cost efficient to find an independent developer with a lot of talent and pay them to keep a game exclusive or time limited. That way, the develôper takes all of the risk and you only spend a smal percentage of what you would have in funding the project yourself.

Its smart business and financially, though it doesnt give cons...

Wow. Looks like it could be awesome as a survival title, especially if those landscapes hold up and co-op works flawlessly. Hopefully its not too far from release, though I never heard of it before.

Devs... How about a Pro/ X patch. This game deserves the stellar treatment for the more powerful hardware.

I have the Pro and have 2 Xs preordered(one for upstairs, one down) and they each have their merits. Sony for their incredible original IPs and Microsoft for this incredibly powerful console and a UHD Bluray drive. I also love Dead Rising and Forza Horizon and the backwards compatibility, as there are a lot of Xbox and Xbox 360 titles that I never got a chance to play.

I was hoping that they would do away with checkerboard and just do a 1600-1800p PC Ultra settings with 4K textures. Though I guess the same with checkerboard 4K wouldnt be so bad. Either way, it should be incredible. Im hoping for a 30fps locked high graphics mode and a 1080-1440p high framerate mode. Would love to see the game hit 60fps in the lesser mode, regardless of resolution.

Hes absolutely right. The overflow of Indie games this gen has saturated the market and shortened the amount of time any one developer can make money on their games. If you look at Amazon over a months time, you get a good idea of what Im talking about. Where a game released at the beginning of the month for $60(or $48 for Prime members), will soon be discounted to $20-$40 or less. This makes it so that everybody down the line is making less money. Which not only hurts developers, but publish...

Totally agree. The thing is, Microsoft has one hell of a catalogue to pull from... the problem is, they dismantled most of their first party studios and knowing that they have a first party problem, they havent formed any new ones. Games like Project Gotham, Blinx, Crimson Skies(which is finally getting a sequel, though not for 2-3 years), Perfect Dark, Conker, Kameo, Alan Wake, Brute Force, Fable, Blue Dragon, Freelancer, Mechwarrior, etc... have all been dormant, many of which deserve seque...

Im sure you are probably right, though those getting these more powerful systems want to see games that take advantage of them. Releasing a patch keeps them still playing it, instead of those games that are getting an upgrade. A win for Rockstar if they do so, in my opinion. That and I want to see how far they could push the game on the X. The game already looks phenomenal on the base systems, cant imagine how incredible it would look on the more powerful ones.

With as popular as this game is, where the hell is the Pro and X patch? Id imagine the Pro could do 1440p-1600p and the X with 4K textures and 1800p-4K. I love the game and its world and it deserves the upgrade for the more powerful systems.

You can see that the engine is scaled down. It has that realistic look, but the effects are limited... which shows a lot in the lighting. The game is one of those that 60fps can make so much better, on top of the better lighting, shadows and ambient occlusion to make it pop.

Im really interested to see where they go with the Xbox One X patch. Im hoping that they go nuts with the lighting, ambient occlusion and shadows and take that framerate up to 60fps. Id be happy if they...

I talked to the manager at my local Gamestop today and she said that they had originally only given 5 per store for preorder, but just told them this past week to take as many preorders as they want to and stock will be forwarded to stores from other stores to fill the orders. I guess they want to make sure every system is sold. Though, she said that there probably wont be any walk in systems or overstock, because of their new open preorder system in place.

It will be the s...

Yes! The more flight combat games, the better. Cant wait!

Looks good, though I wouldnt say it was amazing. Current gen, definitely, but nothing beyond. I would expect more from the next generation of consoles and PCs. Would make an interesting game, though.

Its a great deal for the price. Though I wish they would make it easy to play PC titles on it... as Id then have access to all of the incredible flight combat games available in the PC market. X or Freespace in 4K at Ultra settings, would be orgasmic. LoL.

Give me true 4K and 60fps on the X, with the PCs 4K textures, ultra lighting and shadows and Ill be one happy camper. Dead Rising was one of my favorite games on the 360. I just loved the open environment and the ability to grab stuff off of the shelves and us them as weapons. I was a mall rat when I was a kid, so it was my dream scenario for a game. Now, give me that mall and the entire town to run around in at Christmas... and its heaven in a game.

Daed Rising 4 will be t...

I talked to the owner of this ‘Atari’ about a year ago and told him that anything less than the PS4 is pointless. Even that, at a bare minimum, is still backwards thinking. They should have made a mid to high end PC that allows play of every PC game ever made via Steam plus the new stuff. Even if they released it at $400-$800, with options for casual to enthusiast level hardware. Giving gamers a huge backlog, along with the ability to play all Xbox games and stream PS4 games. Not to mention, ...

According to Microsoft, gamers would rather have online service based titles, instead of single player games.

Me, I exclusively play single player games. Wouldnt buy or own a system without them and would give up gaming if they disappeared.

Wow. Way to twist his words. He did not say that. He said that Sony also claimed to have the most powerful console months ago and he wasnt buying into, as he feels its just marketing hype. I felt he was just saying that he didnt really see a reason to buy the Pro or the X, as neither have shown him a reason to do so, beyond slightly better visuals. And, he is right. Nothing about any game is changing, they just look better.

His exact words: "Apparently the PS4 Pro was ...

Im confused... so much so, I had to read the article three times to make sure it wasnt me. The article starts off about how Crysis was the measuring stick of the PC market and how last generation consoles managed to get it out and looking good on far less powerful hardware, then leaps to driving games and how you cant tell the difference from one running on any PC or console. All looking exactly the same, except for may e a few more effects
