Us Xbox guys? Wow. You Sony guys read into anything what you want. I started the gen with a PS4, then a Pro and then an X. If you had read correctly, I was speculating at what they could do to pull something out of their ass. Agreeing that it was going to be toug for Microsoft to even compete, unless they buy something like EA.

Im not sure where you got my post to be anything other than speculative and hopeful that Microsoft can find their golden goose. Never once did I pul...

Of course they are already working on exclusives for next generation. Though win it? Unless they have a ton of first party studios that gamers don’t know about, it would be a far stretch for them to even compete right now with Sonys first party offerings. And this is coming from someone with an X and loving it. And, you have to remember that even if they do have some great titles coming down the stretch to next generation, like Crimson Skies’ sequel and the new Fable... they’ve got to figure ...

When you see it’s games in 4K(or close to it for some titles) with added effects or enhanced textures, etc... there truly is no going back. And... try to even come close to building a PC, especially now, anywhere near its price. This idea that it needs exclusives to be viable, is a farce. The games do look that much better and the framerates also tend to be a lot more stable. Especially, as said above, if you have a 4K set. Though, even if you have a 1080p TV, you are in for a treat. As many ...

I was right there with you, my friend. I loved the game at launch, it’s only gotten better over time. With the X patch and NEXT update, it’s going to be even better. Truthfully, there must’ve been some sort of interest in a Xbox version, as they wouldn’t be taking all of the time and making the huge effort to move it to a new platform without some sort of intuition as to how it might sell. Something also tells me that this next update is not only going to add multiplayer, it’s going to let a ...

I was playing with the Far Cry 5 editor for about 6 hours last night, just adding objects and details. One thing I have noticed is the game is severely lacking was detail items. I was building a playground/ picnic area and had a tray, hotdog, ketchup and mustard, that was what they had for condiments and kitchen related items. And, as this article suggests, physics is near completely crippled and what is there is pre-canned animation and not true physics calculations.I think the current conso...

Man, my original Xbox Most Wanted list would consist of:

Wreckless - This is one of those games that people thought would be a GTA clone, but it wasn’t. It was basically a carbon copy of 80s Arcade hit Chase HQ. Which I loved. Drive car, wreck bad guys off road, to find the ultimate boss bad guy car. Each car you wrecked added time to your game clock, to find the boss in an incredibly detailed and astonishingly lit open world. That if you built up your time and explored, wa...

@UltraNova As others have said, employees all but confirmed that, as they said they spent 90% of the development time perfecting the art assets and little implementing much else. It sucks, because the bones of the game are in place for a great experience, but the lack of any clear game goals and single player pretty much makes multiplayer content it, and even that is very thin. This BS of pets? Who the hell wants pets over added gameplay features? I just don’t get it, the combined experience ...

This isn’t really a UBisoft screwup, it’s a byproduct of autosave. I don’t care what game you are playing, if it auto saves at an inopportune time… The exact same thing is going to happen. I guess after you do anything decent, you should probably save it yourself, just to make sure this doesn’t happen. I know I’m going to now. I just never thought about this before.

I have been playing it since the very second since the patch released and I haven’t noticed any frame drops. That doesn’t mean they’re not there, it just means that I haven’t noticed any personally. Now it may be worse the further I get in the game, but it looks phenomenal on the X and Im sure the Pro, also.

Great news for X owners. Agreed about the HDR as its always a welcome feature. Though, this game already looks incredible with the Xs auto resolution boost(via its scaler chip) and 16xAF. I fired it up the other day and was amazed how good it looked without a patch. It should look jaw dropping with. Cant wait! X has been getting a constant stream of great updates this past week. Resident Evil 7, DOOM, Far Cry 5, Euro Fishing and Tesla Vs. Lovecraft all in 4K and with other improvements. The D...

My favorite game last gen and one of my all time favorites. The physics implementation is amazing and I wish other games would have taken a que. It’s unfortunate that not one game this gen has come close to matching its use of physics in gameplay. Cant wait to play it again, this time in 4K on the X!

No, it will not make or break the series. The fact is... the series has remained unchanged for the past four iterations. This is the first one to actually take it forward and introduce changes to the game play for the better. The level editor is better than it’s ever been, including assets from some of Ubisoft’s best series.

If people bought the game over and over for the past four sequels, knowing that absolutely nothing changed, other than the scenery.... nothing is going...

What campaign? Anyone else diving head first into the level editor? Id imagine that I am not going to see daylight on another game again for quite some time. With all of the possibilities, the level designer in me is going to go nuts creating another single player game, if not 20, for everyone to play.

Reading many of these posts makes me embarrassed to call myself a gamer. Jesus, you act as if Sony or Microsoft is going to come to your house and give you an award and that they actually care about your allegiance. If anything, they just use you for an advertising avenue, knowing your spreading their name around in every forum you go. Do you think they actually care about your allegiance? No. They care about the money you spend and how they can get more of it from you.

You...

He’s absolutely correct. I think a lot of people fail to forget that the Xbox One X and even the
Pro are hitting far above their paygrade. The Xbox One X would cost you $1000 in PC hardware, especially with the boom in bitcoin. Memory and GPU prices are through the roof. I know, I just built a ridiculously high end machine for my entertainment business and I was lucky to get the prices I did before they shot up to crazy amounts after the holidays.

Regardless, even a 10...

Does anyone really need to ask this question? Because target renders are meant to get people’s attention, get them interested in the game. Developers no doubt want to hit those targets, but most times their ambitions shoot above a consoles, or even a PCs, pay grade. Making them have to scale back to realistic, current, hardware. Which then means downgrades in a games graphics and efffects.

It isn’t as if developers want to downgrade anything, but sometimes their hopes get ...

Awesome! One of two space shooters on the X. This is one of those games I’m doing at 1080p/ 60 with the enhanced visuals. Should look and play increadible.

Agreed. There were a few aspects that were ahead of their time in this game. One, being the deformation tech, which seemed to have metal and plastic bending and breaking in very realistic ways. The other being the physics for not only car handling, but also the wrecks and roadside items that could also bend, break and fly around the game world in very realistic ways.

Other than that, the open world and the graphics were nice at the time, but do show their age even in the re...

It doesn’t say anything in the article about 4K. So why would you even put that in the title? You were just taking a guess, with no solid evidence to back it up either way. It would be one thing if it said in the article that they were planning on doing a 4K update or I would come at a later date or not at all. But Kotaku didn’t even mention it. So there is no confirmation either way.

Clickbait.
