There are two reasons why AAA games are more and more expensive to make, art and advertising... its expensive because everytime they create a new game, they recreate the wheel... literally. The majority of money goes into artists, creating art assets. There is also mass confusion between departments at big developers, because they have so many people working on one game. Sometimes, games are made cross continent... meaning that different departments are split by tens of thousands of miles bet...
Its the first game I bought(in August) in anticipation of the X. The fact that that they not only got this game running at native 4K/ HDR, but with higher resolution textures, shadows and reflections... not to mention, better draw distance and faster load times... Wow.
If any game was made for HDR, it was this one. I never played this game before, so doing so in 4K w/ HDR and all of the effects turned up to 11... should be pure heaven.
Unity, Black Flag and Syndicate all need 4K/30 and 1440p/60(if possible) X patches with HDR.
State Of Decay 2 - May 25, 2018
Crackdown 3 - June 29, 2018
First game I bought for my X(in August before its release) in anticipation for the patch. Cant wait! Only a few more days.
Hes deranged. I instantly see the difference. A brighter picture with deeper blacks and more colorful colors. Not to mention, more three dimensionality in games due to the extended color pallete being able to better simulate the difference between light and dark throughout any color. Which makes the objects in the game world look more solid and real. It also helps with lighting, by allowing a larger range between light and dark. Which, in turn, allows for better shadowing and detail in those ...
I commend everyone for keeping this civil and agree that my Microsoft assessment may be backwards to what happened and maybe Microsoft played off of Sony. Either way, we got a hell of a system out of it in the X. I still think the Pro was way to safe of a call and rhey should have pushed the tech more. I think they were afraid of stepping over that $399 line and history shows, rightfully so. Though... with so many people linng up outside of Apple stores, waiting to spend $1000 a year to have ...
Well said. Both mid gen systems were made as bridges to the next generation. Both Sony and Microsoft knew that they couldnt deliver a true next gen console, with a good CPU boost, to consumers in a console form factor cost friendly package without it costing them and the consumer a lot of money. I think their eye has always been on Ryzen, and even now they are still too expensive to be feasible. So, the best thing that they could do, is expand upon current gen systems. To give gamers a choice...
Looks good, though the 2D building fronts need to go and the pop-in 20 feet in front of the player needs fixed. Other than that, I think they need to tone down the parkour a bit. If they can tighten everything up and make a compelling game out of it, count me in. If the guy making it is listening... allow players to enter more than a third or half or more of the buildings. Nothing more irritating than seeing a casino and not being able to go in and play(cough... GTA). Also, balance the econom...
LoL. Theres a way to get gamers respect, go against the constitution and try to silence all of your critics for calling you out on your attempted money grab, using an establshed beloved IP. I hope Disney rips your contract in two and gives the rights to a developer who actually cares about the Star Wars franchise, for more than an easy pay day.
I applaud Disney for calling them out and forcing their hand. Because EA never wouldve listened to the gamers who buy their games. ...
Yea baby! Native 4K/30 w/ high resolution textures, better texture filtering, ambient occlusion and better shadows or Dynamic resolution(1080p-4K) at 60fps, both with HDR....
I knew 4K was coming but didnt expect the extras, especially HDR... but, I did not expect the 60fps mode. I thought they would be CPU limited.
Wow. Im blown away. Definitely starting the game over and playing through the story again. If ever a game was perfect for HDR... its The Wit...
Which means 200-300 for me. Awesome! I loved the Monster Hunter game on the Vita, this one on the X is going to be nuts! Cant wait to play it!
Lucky's Tale is a decent start, considering its a new IP. Though, its far from Disney animation quality and the character just doesnt have a lot going for it yet. If they create a cartoon, whether it be for TV or just YouTube... that would be a start. Lucky is very cute and ai could see the appeal to kids, but he needs a catch. Something that kids and/or adults can relate to and a strong supporting cast of characters.
I applaud their aspitations, though they have a lot ...
Exactly. Makes no sense. Why go to the trouble to even introduce this mode, if they are just going to rip it from players a few weeks later? Why not leave it in the game for anyone to enjoy it whenever they want?
Id probably play the mode continuously, especially if they get the AI right.
This is awesome! It fits the environment well. My only question is... is this going to be a permanent mode or is it a limited thing? As I havent even gotten to the main game yet. So Id like to play through the main story and then take on the Predator content.
Yes, please. It with an Xbox One X patch @4K/60 with high res textures and HDR, would be incredible.
If you take the bloat of Windows OS and its background services, like the X does, it does equal out. Of course, the CPU is much more powerful in most PCs... but, you cant argue with the results that some developers are getting with the X. Games that most thought could never run at 4K, like The Witcher 3, at PCs Ultra settings in most graphics effects. Im not downing PC, as obviously with enough money... you can make anything more powerful. Though, for $500 in its tiny form factor, you cant be...
Its in prerelease now. Not quite finished. Still needs optimization for both PC and consoles. I think they will eventually get it running decent. Hopefully Microsoft offers up support to help that happen sooner than later... as the game looks like it could be incredible.
I think Im going to play Fortnites battle royal mode until this gets a bit more polished. Then, Im all for it.
Can you set a game up so the playable area doesnt shrink? I understand why they do it, but personally think it would be more fun if youd have the option to keep the landscape open. Because it would be more realistic. Maybe add some items to collect, to make radar or some some way of tracking the remaining players. So you have a roundabout on their location, but not pinpoint. That way, it keeps the possibility of finding another player in a low player count situation... but doesnt give away th...
The problem with this is, just like hackers, you take one down... a hundred more pop up. Add to that, the growing list of people who dont want to work for anything and there isnt much you can do. The funny thing is, people are jumping through all of these hoops and spending all of this money... to see their name at the top of a leaderboard that means nothing to anybody in the real world. Just to them. And, they know that they didnt earn it, so whats it really worth?
