Hyrule Warriors makes at least a bit of sense, since it contains all the DLC and content from both the Wii U and 3DS editions.
Donkey Kong though...I don't understand that one. If it comes with a remastered (or uprendered) DKC:R from the Wii or 3DS it'd make it more worth it.
@EDMIX
The question isn't really regarding what individual instances of games have had some similar interactions as breath of the wild. It is what game has had MORE than breath of the wild.
Which none of your examples have had more. They just have individual instances of a few select interactions.
There was a non-prime Metroid release just last year.
@UCForce
Actually, I'm pretty sure Sony spends the most on advertisements now. Here is some information regarding ad spending for the holidays last year: http://n4g.com/news/2127717...
"In 7? years they've barely shipped 30 mill. WiiU& Switches"
The Switch hasn't been out for 7 years, it's been out for one year. Yes, the Wii U was a failure. What a weird hoop you had to jump through for this statement...
The age of an individual Nintendo system often lasts 5 or more years, for a home console.
NES: 1983-1990
SNES: 1990-1996
N64: 1996-2001
Gamecube: 2001-2006
Wii: 2006-2012
Wii U: 2012-2017
The average for all of those is 5.66 years. Couple that with the idea that Nintendo explicitly stated they'd like to have a longer lifespan for the Switch I could definitely see the console selling in retail for 6 or more...
Aside from a few titles on the PS2, Level-5 has never been known as a AAA studio. Even Ni No Kuni 2 isn't AAA.
They really shouldn't have included 1-2 Switch...
"bye bye Competition even more ;)"
When will people learn that competition is good and healthy for the industry. Monopolistic industries and organizations don't typically have happy consumers.
Actually, there is data regarding the success of games on the Switch. Only 16% of games sell less on Switch than other consoles, 23% sell as well on Switch as other consoles, and an astonishing 28% of games sell better on Switch than other consoles. The remaining 33 percent were exempt from comparisons, either due to exclusivity or some other issue.
While the OLED screen is beautiful at first, the colors get washed out after a few years of use. Specifically Blues.
Jesus Christ, Edmix. What is wrong with you harassing someone like that? I'm reporting you. That's ridiculous.
@monkeyshawn
Thank you for providing that information. He shouldn't be allowed to get away with that.
I felt that Zelda's weather changes made sense. In fact, you could tell it was going to rain even without the UI. Just pay attention to the cloud formation and direction.
@Mr_Writer
You are taking the most isolated examples and trying to claim the situations are the same. Final Fantasy X had lightning that could strike you, in one VERY specific area of the game. It wasn't a weather system, it was just a mini-game mechanic.
Anyway, I agree about it being evolutionary not necessarily revolutionary, but you must admit it's likely that other games will take inspiration from BotW. In fact, we are already starting to se...
@Teflon
The reason DK64 had an issue regarding too many collectibles was that they were split between five different characters that you could only change at select places. Most critics say that the game would have been better if all bananas were the same color, or you could have just swapped characters at will.
For every person that considered it sacrilege to bring up flaws for this game, there was another person who felt reviews were either paid off or it was simply bias.
Honestly, last year was kinda a shit show. Too many polarizing ideals. I felt had Zelda released a year earlier it would have been a bit less chaotic.
Wow that's extreme.
Is Minecraft considered an indie still?
What a weird thing to say.
This is the upcoming holiday season for PS4, so I expect it to surge pretty high and surpass current Switch numbers. It's going to be a dance between these two for a while depending on which one has the holiday.
