Regarding Coop play, the reason why the second Luigi is this green mass is likely due to the fact that it's not native co-op on the system. That is, you are using two separate 3DS's to communicate. Having an untextured set of polygons reduces streaming load and allows the game to run smoother, I'd assume, while still keeping the perspective of the secondary player intact.
If they did bring it to Switch I'd imagine the second player would be another character...
In the UK the PS4 userbase is likely significantly higher than double the XB1 userbase, honestly. Worldwide it's about double, but most of that comes from America.
Honestly, I pay the money to play online, that's about it. I typically don't use the bells and whistles associated with PS+, so I doubt I'd be using it with Switch. Except maybe cloud saves.
However...their voice chat is what's disappointing. Their implementation is awful.
Super Mario Odyssey is also a great game. We don't have to insult one game to give praise to another.
They have done that quite a few times with titles such as Geist and Eternal Darkness.
First, Nintendo has never stated that they are abandoning the dedicated portable console space. Second, you can't see a "decline" with incomplete data. Switch has only been on the market for 18-19 months. Third, every one of your numbers are incorrect based on current available data.
They technically are, but only a specific division of Sony, and not the one responsible for their best games.
Well the 3DS has had 7 years to accumulate such a good library. Switch is catching up fast though.
Handheld consoles and home consoles. They are both game consoles. You (or anyone else) separating them in your head doesn't change the definition of the term.
Skyward Sword is a good game. I wouldn't say it's as good as OoT or MM, but it's definitely a good game.
@SGT
Sorry, I didn't see the "before 8" in your comment before.
Still, Mario Party hasn't offered traditional controller support in over ten years. So I don't see why you'd expect this one to.
I'm pretty sure you are incorrect. The last three entries (8, 9, 10) all required the use of Wii-motes with Mario Party 10 requiring the Wii U gamepad.
Nintendo online will also offer discounts. Not sure what you mean by sharing features. Also, not all games will need you to pay to play online, which is good.
@Silly gameAR
You really think there isn't a large preference for Sony on this site? We can monitor this pretty easily with just the upvote process.
If one writes a comment "Xbox sucks" or "Nintendo sucks" (or any combination therein) they'll receive a copious amount of agrees (and often more agrees than disagrees) before eventually being flagged.
If one writes a comment "Playstation sucks" it wil...
@AspiringProGenji
And if people in general were silent then the OP's comment wouldn't have so many upvotes and the highest upvoted comments wouldn't be disparaging epithets towards Nintendo...
Again, I just don't think people are being silent as a whole.
@AspiringProGenji
If Sony or MS were doing this there would also be defenders of the practice. That doesn't mean everyone else is "silent". That means there are variations of opinion, especially for those that have more vested interest.
I'm not someone that is against emulation. I'm just saying that the media isn't being silent about it. Otherwise this article wouldn't even be here.
Many media outlets have commented on this. Including major ones such as IGN. Every time one of these articles comes though comments disparaging Nintendo often get the most upvotes on this website.
I'm not sure what you guys mean. It sounds like people aren't silent about it.
@jukins
I think your numbers are a bit off. I don't think Horizon has hit or surpassed the 10 million mark yet. It's probably around 8.5 million. Which is still fantastic for a new IP, or an exclusive title in general.
Nobody said we "expect" it to. The difference between me and you is that you are definitively saying it won't happen when I'm just saying that the evidence isn't solidified. To use the idea of it falling behind PS4 and Wii sales as evidence does nothing when it's outpacing DS sales. Anything can happen. The holiday boost could boost it past PS4 and Wii sales in the same timeframe, and Pokemon could push the console to be competitive with the DS for a longer period of...
@Lime123
Are you sure about that? In Europe a substantial lead goes to Playstation, and Playstation was the 3rd most known brand in UK when Xbox was merely the 17th.
