These are the same guys that gave Xenoblade Chronicles 2 a 4/10. I'm not quite sure I agree with their opinion regarding JRPG's.
"It's why the Tomb Raider was announced and it doesn't have a switch version which is showing that many third parties are not going to support the system no different than Nintendo's previous Portables"
Tomb Raider was announced for the other two consoles and not the Switch for two reasons (likely). First, it may not have the power, second it may have started development a while ago and spending resources developing a Switch version would delay the gam...
Why not? That's a pretty massive sector of the gaming market. I think millennials are anyone from 18-35.
@Pancit
First, that is an invalid analogy. Second, most (if not all) of the developers at Naughty Dog that actually worked on the games are gone too, so I'm not sure what you are trying to get at.
I think Nintendo would prefer the kids buy their games instead of use Youtube, honestly.
Crash Bandicoot hasn't been a part of Naughty Dog for almost two decades, aside from the one level stint in Uncharted 4.
Borderlands 2 on Vita was also a very ambitious port. I don't think it's fair to judge them based on that alone. They also brought Skyrim to the Switch and it seems like they did a pretty good job there.
Based on your sources.
Total games
Switch: 201
PS4:163
75 or Above:
Switch: 99
PS4: 81
So, it didn't actually have as many quality games in its first year (which you've actually provided us the first 14 months for PS4). The Switch had more total games and more quality games overall. The Switch even has less total "bad" games too (PS4 has 10 and Switch has just 4)
I've been really lucky with the core crystals. So far I have Nim, Kora, Godfrey, Perceval, and Finch that I've obtained through core crystals. Every time I pop a rare core crystal I've gotten a rare unique blade. I haven't obtained one from the common yet, but those I just use for Mercs anyway.
I'm only 55 hours in too.
I love this series. Though I wish that Sega would bring Shining The Holy Ark and Shining Force 3 to something other than the Sega Saturn!
You realize that God of War's perspective and combat used to be way more like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta than this newest iteration is, right?
Not saying it's going to be bad (I'm excited for it), but if you wished for God of War to stay God of War then you'd at least identify the change in perspective and combat.
Perspective is key with those numbers. At least for the Switch. PS4 does awesome as usual, but the Switch has like four Ubisoft games on it, and only 1 is AAA. PS4 has every new Ubisoft game and all the backlog Ubisoft games that go on sale. Not even considering install bases of course.
Hopefully that 6% improves for Switch in the future. It seems like it will if Ubisoft makes more quality games for it.
1. This isn't Nintendo who made these
2. Based on your username I'm assuming your an Xbox fan. You know they've actually made branded onsies, right?
If they do an actual price drop for the 3DS I think it could. It's been 199.99 for the XL version since 2012. Sure, they've upgraded the hardware since then, but it's still weird that there hasn't been a legitimate price drop in so long.
Heck, let's put Uncharted 4 to the side. Mario Kart 8 also received a bundle a day after the game came out. Splatoon 2 received a bundle in Japan when it came out. Mario Odyssey received a bundle when it came out too.
Console bundles aren't indicative of a game failure.
@Ashlen
There is no significant difference between that bundle and a traditional bundle. The one you've linked was for the Slim model that wasn't even out when Uncharted 4 was released. You're splitting hairs.
@Ashlen
I think you meant to respond to me, and Uncharted 4 edition PS4's were out the day Uncharted 4 came out, May 10th. https://blog.us.playstation...
So, was Sony also afraid that Uncharted 4 wouldn't sell well?
"It's makes sense why they needed to bolster sales and bundle it up with their consoles so quickly."
What kind of logic is this? Because it is bundled with a console it wasn't selling well enough? Man, I guess Uncharted 4 and Mario Kart 8 were real poor sellers until they bundled them with the console. /s
You yourself used the term "timed exclusive". Which means that you also agree, there are other degrees of exclusivity aside from just "exclusive" and "not exclusive".
Take a look at Gematsu. They have a cool list of the various types of exclusives when they look into the exclusives on any platform. Here is one for PS4: https://gematsu.com/exclusi...
I didn't think any of the God of War games had boring combat, and I've played all of them but Ascension and the cellphone game Betrayal.
