It's not that I love MS... It's that I like Sony less.

I was impressed it had the hairs modelled on the buds. I haven't smoked in more than a decade, but I live in Illinois which is legalizing as we speak. I can't wait until my job is no longer in jeopardy because of an occasional puff. \ö/

You don't ever listen, spotie. MS is not updating its SDK, it's getting a new API that is designed to use the hardware the way it was built to be used. The PS4 already has the low level API it was designed for. There's a big difference and we see it all the time with software. Unreal 3, for example, wasn't updated to become Unreal 4 because the benefits of a new engine outweighed updating the old one too.

Updates = PS4
New Tech = XB1

And you got to kill a guy with a bong. I guess weed can kill you if there's a "Hitman" behind it, lol.

I wonder how much time they spent "scanning" that into the game...

"visual parody" lol

The only joke here is you. You work in the games industry but don't know what PARITY is? I work in the White House if you need to reach me!

@ everyone

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

It's semantics really. If you buy a tv, but it comes with an "I owe you" for the remote they'll mail to you later, the TV does not fully function day one either. When a dev does with a game though we defend it? That's just dumb. This didn't happen to this degree in the past. We've grown accustomed to this because it's the norm these days, just like Pavlovs' ...

I'm sure the game is great but...

Quit releasing games that don't work right!!! There are more broken day one releases now than gemes that work anymore. Dragon Age, Assassin's Creed, Battlefield, Halo MCC; It's crazy.

Does anyone find it ironic that "Clipping Error" is reporting this?

I agree. The dev even says that their engine is not using any specialized graphics features of either system. The gap won't really narrow until DX12 rolls out.

What Valve has done is like having your child abducted; you're left both with a gnawing emptiness you'll never know what they're growing up to become and hopeful that one day they'll return home.

I can't believe it's been more than 10 years...

Thanks, Nintendo!

It just sucks that companies trend more towards releasing games before they're ready. It affects day one gameplay and review scores, and sometimes games can't be properly fixed for longer than expected.

A thought on point #2:

In Gears, the world was already destroyed and many things were lost. Think Mad Max and it becomes clear that they would have had better tech in the past.

The Sires may have been the precursor to the Locust, but it may not have been the only project of its kind. There could be other things besides Locust lost to the Pendulum Wars. What was the other side of the war doing so that the Sires were deemed necessary in the first place?

Even if it is rolled out this year, the true benefits won't be seen until 2016 siince the first titles will be DX12 "launch titles". It always takes time to learn how to effectively write new code.

If Win10 does release this summer, we may finally get some real data on XB1's performance then too. E3 perhaps? Then again, they may never talk about it at all and let the games do the talking instead.

Wrong. Dreamcast made Sega tons of money. It was the debt accrued from previous bad business, of which they still had $400 million to repay, and the announcement of the PS2 which all but stopped Dreamcast sales that ultimately killed it. "Pull a Sega" means software only; it's all they're good at anyways.

Nintendo fans are a dying breed, and no 3rd party support means lost sales in general. If it weren't for Nintendo selling addicts new hardware every ...

When the handheld market finally fails Nintendo's cash cow goes with it. They make most of their money with numerous handheld revisions and Pokemon. They fail to be successful in the living room, but by selling overpriced home consoles they still turn a profit there too. They're still a failure.

Facts.

Nintendo is a games company, not a hardware company. Handhelds are dying because of smartphones, and their only home console success since SNES was in selling to non-gamers. They should pull a Sega while they still can.

I worked at Funcoland, which mergered with Gamestop, through the launch of PS2 so I was there as it happened. Before that, I had to turn my PS1 upside down to get it to work through disc read errors, had disc read errors in a $400 Sony car stereo and had a home EQ of theirs all fail just out of warranty. When Sony stole my GF's money for repairing her last of 8 consoles, after it failed just outside of warranty, I bought an XBOX instead and quit buying Sony products. Let me explain what...

When the US government, via class action lawsuit, forced Sony to admit they wrongfully accused their fans of misusing their consoles when they in fact sold untested prototypes just to meet a deadline. After my GF went through 8 in 11 months we quit Sony as a brand altogether, although I do miss out on some great exclusives because of my choice to boycott them.
