It's not that I love MS... It's that I like Sony less.
CRank: 5Score: 80470

People arguing here are so juvenile. Let me analogize:

Consoles are like busses. You get on one, it takes you where you want to go, and you don't own it. It doesn't matter if your bus wins anything because it's just a service provided to you.

PC on the other hand, is like tuning a car that you own. I can brag about the qualities of my PC compared to any other because it's mine, it's upgradable and therefore unique to any other.

They weren't forcing any charges for used games. They initially stated that they themselves would not utilize it, but would allow for these charges to be a part of DRM if 3rd party devs wanted to utilize the feature. If you gave a disc to your friend, however, the system would have given the option for your friend to pay for and own a digital only copy of the game without the need to buy it from the marketplace. The game would have still played from the disc on any machine it was put i...

If they sell more software via PC, they can afford to sell hardware even cheaper and at a greater loss to increase XB1 install base.

More software sold = More consoles sold

It's a win/win with Win 10!

Why name an update? 2.50 is good enough, isn't it?

@DarkOcelet - I hope you're right. Both systems could use more secure and stable networks. I hope some new features get added in soon too though.

@GameNameFame

I guess you missed GDC, when it was stated that eSRAM would see a 15% boost with Win 10/DX12? It has also been confirmed that this update will reduce CPU binding by allowing the systems cores to talk simultaneously with the gpu. As I stated both will absolutely improve performance; the only thing up for debate is how much.

I clearly pointed out everything else as speculation since none of us can answer those questions. Not even an angry troll....

Once again, SMS over-promises on their product. Do they know Peter Molyneux?

It would be nice to see some benchmarks so we could put some of this arguing to rest. One thing is for sure though; DX12 will make a difference on the console. We now know that it will absolutely improve eSRAM and CPU performance to some degree.

What we don't know yet is how the CPU/GPU relationship will be affected by the direct link shown in the Microsoft slides, or why the GPU is split. We also don't understand to what degree developers can take advantage of the...

PS3 had a read speed of 9gb with a 2x blu ray drive. 360 had 16gb read speed with a 12x dvd drive. If PS3 had a dvd drive to get data off the disc faster its games would have looked way better than 360 games did. Furthermore, the lack of read speed is what necessitated the installs on so many games 360 could play straight off the disc. Blu Ray is good at storing media, and you're right PS3 had memory issues which compounded graphics issues as well.

As further evidence ...

@ disagrees - Real easy to push a button. Not so easy to post as to why.

Only a fanboy would think MS or Sony were angels, but at least MS is honest about admitting its faults, making improvements that make the system more capable, and praising the accolades of their competitors. Sony virtually sits arrogantly on their behinds and does nothing to make the console more user friendly by comparison.

The article has rather condescending overtones which suggest that only MS has the need to make money by strengthening its brand. Sony ruined the read speed of the PS3 by making it a Blu Ray player, essentially reducing the gameplay capabilities of a game system to ensure victory in a format war. The point of a business is to make money and both companies do it.

The difference between MS and Sony is purely political. MS is not good at political dialog but Sony excels at it....

It amazes me that a country that relaxes its borders to ISIS at the same time it tightens its borders against the Kurds would ban Minecraft for violence. This is neither immature to point out because it's true, nor off topic since the article is directly related to Turkey's moral standpoint towards violence.

Why any of these posts were censored is beyond me.

"...as all Nintendo's rivals have fallen to their might..."

Yeah. It was a sad day when Sony stopped making the Playstation, and when Microsoft followed suit because of the "model example" of "the best practices in the industry" that Nintendo followed.

As "a leader in the industry," highlights of Nintendo's abilities include:
-Launching NES as Atari bankrupted themselves.
-Suing Turbografx 16 for...

Plenty of other good games showcase their value to a limited audience. Heavenly Sword, Too Human, and Watchdogs are all examples of this. Reviews are opinion, just like the posts on this topic, and should be used as a guideline for making a purchase.

One of my favorite games last gen was Too Human on 360 and it has a review score of 65 on metacritic. I played it through at least half a dozen times. Review scores are not gospel. More of a guideline.

It doesn't take that much longer to play an XB1 disc you put in for the first time. Maybe 2 minutes. No big deal.

Guess I shouldn't be someone elses parrot because I look foolish now. I was reading through comments earlier that said it was only 800p and it had mostly agrees. I assumed rather than researched so my post is wrong. I apologize for the error.

The names do make sense:

360 - a revolution in home console capability. XB Live, Arcade, movies and tv, achievements, etc.
One - an extension of the 360 philosophy. The One place for all your entertainment.

It's just confusing when it's looked at purely as numbers.
