Lmfao, dude. MS "reverse engineered" outdated GCN 1.1 tech to put into the XB1? Okay... Meanwhile, MS put $3 billion into prototyping the XB1 architecture with things like move engines, power gating, and FL12.0 and 12.1 HW acceleration. TBH, it's unique elements of design have been filtered into GPUs for the last 3 years and are still being put into the latest architectures like Polaris and Vega.
Oddly enough, the PS Pro still uses outdated GCN 1.1 in orde...
Yeah, it was definitely intended to be more of a dig on Pachter in this instance. Sony will be fine, in spite of all the negativity they've been recieving around here and on the web. I know I'm guilty of some of the negativity, but I honestly don't feel that the Pro is doing enough to make a big difference. I'm more interested to see if some of the PS4 games will opt for better quality at 1080p, rather than pseudo 4K, before drawing any meaningful conclusions about the subj...
I actually don't think the Pro is doomed, it's just not everything some of us were expecting, and I think usually Sony does a better job than they did with the Pro reveal.
I disagree with you regarding Pachters abilities when it comes to video game predictions though. I think he's more wrong than right.
I stopped playing when Colin Mc Crae turned into Dirt, so I didn't realize they did that in Dirt 2. Really nice touch though and I think more games should do it!
I thought I'd made it pretty clear, but let me highlight the important part again:
AMD says less than 4x more GPU performance is needed to go from 1080p to 4k.
Scorpio is 4.5x more performance than XB1.
4.5x > 4x. Did you follow the alligator? He likes bigger numbers.
Now let's apply what we've learned to the real world and ask this question:
Are there any XB1 games that can run 1080p/60fps on XB1? If ...
Lol!
Pachter endorses the Pro? It's official then, the Pro is doomed. Pachter is never right about anything, lol!
Sega was in their position, hardware-wise. Ninty is just too stubborn to give that part up, but let's face it, Ninty would ne much better off if they just quit the hardware business and made their games on mobile and real consoles instead. They're just too stubborn to admit it.
You know it would be really funny if the NX was revealed to be vaporware, and a code name for nix-ing their hardware division instead. They did release Pokemon Go and have Super Mario Ru...
It uses the "tiger" versions of the jaguar line of cores, and a GPU based off of the 7850 with some minor elements of Polaris. If they strayed too far from the OG PS4 then they couldn't ensure FC in the Pro, so they were forced to continue to use the old GCN 1.1 architecture specifically (that's why there's no UHD Blu Ray support in it, there's no H.265 encode).
Scorpio will be customized off of Polaris or possibly even Vega, because the architect...
Yeah, but the Pro is only a better experience, not a Premium one. That's why Scorpio is targeting native 4k and coming out next year, doing VR with headsets that also work on PC, playing 360 games, allowing mods, etc. They'll even have great 4k movie options that don't require being forced to hook up to the internet. Premium means all the bells and whistles, and PS4P doesn't have nearly all of what Scorpio will for gaming.
Nix, I hope you're right bec...
Where's Bruce Jenner when you need him?
The quality of this game is astounding. Look at all the nicknames they give you for example. At first, I was confused why there was a list instead of just typing in your name, and then the announcer spoke it aloud! Crazy details everywhere...
I'm so excited!
With AMD's admission that it takes less than 4x GPU performance go get from 1080p to 4k, it's pretty obvious that the Scorpio will go from 1080p to native 4k at whatever FPS it is on the XB1. Scorpio is 4.5x more powerful than XB1 so it may even be able to get to native 4k on 900p games as well, but that would be a stretch if it's even possible at all.
Forza 7 comes to mind as one example of a game getting to 4k/60, since the numbered games were always 60FPS. Ha...
It's really funny too, that the author feels "hoodwinked" by having believed it was going to be a $40 AAA game.
Your post is irrelevant because it says exclusive content, not exclusive games, right in the title. You know, like the exclusive PS4 content for Destiny? Don't worry though, you'll still get games with exclusive problems, just not exclusive gameplay.
New Monday, It's the PS versions of Bethesda's games that have had all the exclusive game-breaking bugs. That trend will continue, I'm sure.
Only XB1 S will do 4k and HDR10, the dominant format for HDR content. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. The Slim can't do 4K at all, and their HDR is obviously the HLG format, the only HDR format that supports HDR through 1.4 that doesn't also require proprietary hardware.
I should mention that between HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG, only HDR10 seems likely to survive when considering the current adoption rates and the 2.0a standard. I should also mention ...
If I remember right, the only difference between the Xbox and PS2 versions was a tiny bit of GFX. That means that the PS4 version, looking the best, would now be the best, right? Unless you're actually talking about having the Xbox version on the XB1 I'm not sure I follow.
According to the description, it's "fresh and bloody" too.
I'm assuming you switched from 360 to PS4? XB1 will have mods.
