It's funny how the people defending Sony in other articles about crossplay conveniently neglect commenting in this one. How much more proof do they need? They even blame Bethesda for the lack of mod support, for crying out loud.
It does go both ways, but right now it's Sony who keeps closing off options for its consumers.
Sony doesn't want crossplay or Fallout mods.
They don't offer a UHD Blu Ray player, which would have only cost them a few bucks to put in, so people have to be online to watch 4K movies on PS4 (which you can also do without a PS4 directly from your TV).
They removed the optical support on the Slim, making more expensive surround headsets incompatible...
The app was pulled because it violated MS terms of service. When Nesbox was pulled, it was cited specifically by MS that the emulator qualified as a game, not an app. MS said it would need to have been submitted to ID@xbox for approval. I assume it is the same here, but who knows. I still don't see what the big deal is when you can legally obtain emulators anywhere else.
Also, the article appeared to be suggesting that the emulator came with games? If that's the...
You don't know that RE7 predates PT's development because RE7 wasn't announced until after Konami cancelled PT. PT was also not only about 1st person. The paranormal comes to mind as well, which brings me to my next point. I don't think that you understand, a return to the series' roots would involve Zombies, Umbrella, or even the company they stole the information for the T-Virus from. Yes, limited ammo and health are nice to see because we're not in an action sl...
Plagued by difficulties? Yes, it was too difficult to honor their word and make a game that they said would return to the series roots. It was too difficult not to plagerize PT because it was immensely popluar before it was cancelled. It was too difficult not to capitalize on the RE namesake, or what's left of it anyways, in order to make a game that shares nothing with the original RE except the genre, limited ammo, and herbs. Finally, it was too difficult to get out of the rut of ba...
Slim consoles aren't worth an upgrade, but offer value for the new customer. The "mid gen" consoles are worth an upgrade as long as they benefit your a/v setup. Hopefully, that benefit includes both a 4K option and an enhanced 1080p mode as well.
I'm not here to start a DX12 debate, but MS did say that DX12 would offer some improvements on console, and that it would make it easier to tap into the things that XB1 is designed to be good at. Remember also that one can only relate TF to TF if the architectures are exactly the same. If the architectures are different, like AMD vs. Nvidia for example, then some types of code work better on each GPU which is often demonstrated in performance benchmarks.
That said, FH...
I've thought about games within games before, like if you went to an NFL game inside an open world you could be watching someone playing Madden. Your thoughts remind me of what Sony envisioned with Home as well.
You know, the other day I heard rumors pop up again that Playground is up to something besides Horizon though. I'd first heard the rumor about a year ago and it went dark. Let's face it though, an open world adventure with Forza customization and phys...
Overload, I'll try to be nice about this explanation.
The article says that Xbox gamers game more on their consoles than PS gamers do. Matter of fact, Xbox gamers have also consistently bought more games per console since the 360 came out. PS gamers have always been more casual because the PS brand has always been more popular. Since popular things sell to a wider audience, the PS naturally attracts more people who don't game as much.
You menti...
Well said.
U Talkin, I can't believe that you're arguing against adding more features to a revised console, and advocating Sony removing features from the PS4 Slim as a better way of doing business. MS announced 1S and Scorpio together so people don't run out and buy a 1S for its' better features, only to find out that a real powerhouse was only a year away. Did it also effectively counter the Pro announcement? Absolutely, and it's called killing two birds with one stone.

The article says "racing game of the year" if you hadn't noticed, King Thrash. That makes Howler's comment somewhat relevant, albeit a bit vague, because FH3 can't be touched this year. GOTY... get it now?
OTOH, the article has nothing to do with GT, which in your opinion, will still be the top dog of racers after seeing just how awful GT Sport actually looks. Hypocritically, that means that you're the one starting S*** in this thread with your ...
Selective PR spin from MS? 3rd party devs are saying it's Sony who is stonewalling their efforts to get cross console play going in their games, not MS.
You're the one spinning things now.
MS is offering BC for free... which costs them time and money to patch each game, already on the used market, to work on the XB1. Developers work for free after their games launch to optimize them for performance, in addition to fixing bugs. It's no different to expect 4K for free as well, as long as a developer decides to patch their game, especially since changing the resolution is not that labor intensive anyways.
We'll see which devs are dumb enough to try a...
Hey Joe, I thought Nintendo was in the handheld market too. I guess phones and tablets don't count as handhelds now? Your logic is slightly skewed to think that it's oaky for one device to allow for pirated gaming but not another.
Why is it okay to have apps to emulate on a phone or tablet, but not on a console? What's the difference between the two that only the console version should be shut down? Wouldn't most people be playing illegal roms on their mobile devices too?
Just because it hasn't been done before(because there's never been any way to legally create apps for consoles before) doesn't mean it shouldn't be.
Now I'm even more confused! I finally decided to give the website a click, and they keep interchanging ME4 and ME: Andromeda throughout the article. The way it's written, ME4 could mean a new ME game that takes place right after 3, ME: Andromeda, or even Dragon Age 4 when considering the context.
What an idiot!
No, it doesn't trounce it, it's not even close in most regards. Like I said, look at it around the 30 second mark in the video and compare it to GTA V. Compare the water, the textures on the buildings, the amount of traffic, the amount of pedestrians, the animation, the geometry, the physics, almost anything else at any time in the video and it's clearly behind the PS4 and XB1 versions of GTA.
No offense, but are you one of those guys that thinks GT Sport look...
At the same rate, MS will support FC in all consoles going forwards. When XB1 gets phased out is when Scorpio becomes the lowest common denominator, yet your XB1 games and BC360 games will still play on the newest hardware available. You could call Scorpios' replacement a new generation or not but, when it arrives, new games will then be one disc that works in both Scorpio and its' replacement instead.
Frosty, you're off the mark a bit.
As meche334 pointed out above, the XB1 CU's run 16 queues each, for a total of 32. Plus the XB1 has 2 command processors, move engines to carry data to/from any other parts of hardware, and dual lane ESRAM which utilizes full bandwidth in both directions simultaneously. Engines designed for Async, if they are tailored to utilize all of this hardware will run exceptionally well with the setup in the XB1. XB1 is farther behind wit...
