There's only one group that thinks we shouldn't have SP, Coop, Assault, AI players etc etc and that's the publishers.

Must be a very large patient bunch of kids out there holding off from playing it on release!

I think it would better balance the supply and demand. If EA takes less risks then it opens the door to others that will and looses revenue. This year has seen some big changes in this regard ie. I recently pledged money for the upcoming Star Citizen game - the publishers said there was no demand for this type of game yet it has already far surpassed needed pledges(over $2.5m in a matter of weeks). Firaxis are amazed how well Xcom sales have been going, Steam have introduced Greenlight, influ...

Cant help thinking this is just years too late for a dedicated expensive PS3 add-on.

You can pick up a portable 1080p HDMI touchscreen for almost half the cost!

I'd be happy with some more map packs based on the space station, cruisers n fighters as seen in the last part of the SP.

KZ4 = PS4 for me!

It's a real shame that nearly every game review generally ignores all the bugs.

I like how EA waffles on about their commitment to quality/patches but the reality is quite different - took over 6 months to fix major bugs like no VOIP on the PS3 version of BF3 for instance.

Now there seems to be much the same problem with PS3 MOH Warfighter!!

Well EA could always offer a SP and MP demo.

Generally find if a demo is not available at launch then it's because it's not good enough and they hope you'll buy on hype etc.

I'm not bothering with the UK PSN Store until it's either put back the way it was or is like the US version.

... and the Singstar Icon is removed off the games list.

And you can go much further back than the Sierra Quests games. The Atari 8bits had masses of disk based graphic adventures, strategy, tactical games etc which were absolutely huge and would takes months to complete. Each would include detailed manuals, character story books, full maps and all sorts of bits that pulled you into the story. The author seems to think this was just the arcade game era - so wrong.

I see the real issue as the map packs being simply overpriced.
16 maps with all the coding of the game and all the singleplayer content typically costs under £30 on release (PS3/360) but 4 maps and a few extras cost £11.95. Also you can't get a store deal so you're paying full price and you can't sell them 2nd hand with the game (should you wish).

I'd much prefer to go back to buying proper retail packaged expansion packs than the current ov...

I don't agree it's down to lazy devs rather a combination of publisher cost restraints and less experience with specific PS3 coding.
A PC dev can quickly adjust to coding the 360, they can also port code to the PS3 but that means not making use of all the SPE's.
But that brings another issue; adding code to make use of the SPE's requires more memory but the PS3 doesn't have extra memory rather it has slightly less usable system memory.

It's no different to a price error in a retail store - it happens and a few get lucky.. END.

Elite premium got their maps and shortly afterwards the map packs were available to buy at half price.

For both titles the problem stems from paying in advance. Neither titles are getting the quality of BC2 Vietnam expansion pack.

I would say it doesn't start with the gamers rather the media have been successful through non stop X v Y tactics, at creating this pretence of loyalty.
It's quite funny to stand firm that x product is the best when you're dealing with 5-6yr old technology. In real technological terms both products are ancient - the iPhone didn't exist and we're on no.5 now!

I think more ppl rage quit these days because the games can be so frustrating. It's one thing to be owned by another player but quite another to be spawnkilled 10 times over in a row because the devs didn't bother writing proper detection code.

Good point about the trash talkers but again why do games default with the mics active rather than muted (On PS3 at least). I wonder sometimes if the publishers want you to be frustrated!!

I enjoying gaming on both PS3 and PC. These days though it's the PS3 that will lock-up mid game requiring a reboot far far more than my PC. I've also had to replace 2 PS3's due to BR drive failures (MW2 texture streaming killed the 1st).
I've been a PC gamer for many years and over time issues with PC drivers, OS errors have reduced an awful lot but unfortunately there's been a big increase in poorly coded games that are released with little testing and cause issue...

Was a shame it took so long for the PS3 version to get working properly as it killed off the multiplayer yet there were some good user created maps for it.

As I see it, the problem with current 3D is it's a temporary clumsy option requiring wearing bulky glasses which is quite isolating if watching TV with others.

I think it will be a natural progression when it has evolved properly and 3DTV's don't require glasses.
