I wonder if we need some sort of warranty against online server closure or enable the option for user created servers, with independent lookup servers.
I would have been enjoying Grid 1 (with it's DLC packs) still if it wasn't for the online being killed off.
I'd prefer to see a Race Driver 4 format with lots of tracks and variables with lots of vehicle formats than only a few car types locked to only being able to race on a few tracks.
I can't comment on US direct sales but in Europe you can buy PC digital media titles as a retail package with a code and manual in the box (ie. Amazon, Shopto, Game etc) and PC titles on average remain 20 - 30% cheaper.
I wonder what the licensing costs are for PC protection?
I'd much prefer a games price drop - say to PC levels!
Not bothered about the killing ppl thing either - it's the devs that brought that in. Loved UT, Quake etc - love the competition.
I think the play hard Microsoft went when Bill did. It would have been hard to imagine Apple getting any market share in the PC market but now ppl aspire to have one.
Look how MS rammed Vista down ppl's throats - by making sure future versions of directx didn't work with XP (rather than producing a fantastic new product where users wanted to upgrade).
I've had a Lumia 800 since November; used word via mobile Office, needed to preview it in full sc...
£40 for PS3 owners or £32.99 for 360 owners in Game.
If it was £32.99 for PS3 I'd buy it but I don't see it as great value at £40 as I already have the Karkand Expansion and I prefer CoD for tight close maps as it seems with BF3 the smaller the map the more likely the enemy will spawn right behind you - this doesn't seem to happen in CoD.
I feel that the tablets will be much like the MS Phones - huge media hype, lots of tick boxes but when you dig deeper many functions just don't work properly.
I suspect the only thing MS will introduce into tablets is:
BSOD and RoD
This sort of thing should be happening more often so as to reduce the sales of unfinished games.
i.e. Battlefield 3 on PS3 - over 3 months to get working comms for a game that is designed around squads.
A Further 3+ months to fix input lag - trying to play an fps game when you can get delays up to a quarter controller turn when aiming was a joke.
And what did those pre-order purchasers get? was it an apology or some extra bonus??? No they go...
M.U.L.E. - a true classic
Putting it into perspective; the auto game updates, online data backup and lots of game content OR 16 - 20 maps spread over a year plus a few trinkets from EA / Activision for much the same price.
With Plus it's downloaded and patches automatically.
Platform: it's a PS3 thing. EA's latest solution is to disable anti-aliasing but then you've got so much buzzing around the screen you can't make out what's going on!
I'm using a Dell U2410 in Game mode which has an input lag of 14.4ms, not the lowest but less than most 42" LED TV's and nothing like the levels I'm experiencing in BF3.
You missed out Prone!! I was referring to those of us suffering with input lag. i.e. when I rotate and aim I get about quarter of a second delay.
I'd be more interested in new content for BC2; it has cleaner graphics, better controller movement (for those of us suffering from BF3 motion lag), better weapons and more interesting maps - just needs a snow map pack!!
Better playability, better cleaner graphics and a great Vietnam expansion. I also prefer the controller movement as I get a slight delay in BF3 (PS3).
A nice update to a server list and user servers would just finish it off nicely :)
I hope the next generation moves away from the dedicated locked down console and more towards a home computer again like the 8 and 16bit Atari's n Commodores.
Proper hardware support for keyboards, mice and various controllers
and I wouldn't mind if my PS3 games were priced similarly to my iPad games.
I have probably only purchased a handful of 2nd games over the years whether for PC or PS3 but I have sold quite a few that I had completed and was unlikely to get back too.
I don't buy prime title games on Steam and I'm passing on some PS3 online pass games that are not in my A list but would have purchased before the online pass.
It doesn't help that many games are now short o...
I understand what your referring too but it shouldn't come from lag rather movement weighting.
KZ3 has a small amount of weighting and KZ2 had quite a bit of it. The key here is the devs deliberately added code to create the effect.
With BF3 you know it's not coded in as the PS3 and PC formats feel so different. The PC version feels fluid and natural while the PS3 version results in you swinging due to delays.
It's understandable some will...
I wish they would expand on the actual gameplay - something on the lines of BF2's Special Forces expansion that featured night vision, climbing up buildings etc with rope hook, crossing building roofs etc with zip lines and make everything that could be climbable actually climbable rather than adding invisible walls everywhere.
