Agreed, and it also hints at why some gamers my absolutely hate this game.
Heavy Rain not on the list but God of War pack is?
Its not hard to see what kind of games this dude likes to play.
Im not sure I would put Demon's souls OVER Uncharted 2 due to how niche it actually is, but personally I agree with you. It should be very high on the list.
I will be playing Demon's Souls.
Though Uncharted 2 is fantastic and I beat it, Demon's Souls is much more addictive.
I can't remember any time this generation that I went flying over 40 hours of gameplay and I have yet to get sick of it or put it down.
Played Uncharted 2 first.
Not because it is better (it is on many many levels), but Demon's Souls as I heard another poster refer to it, is chocolate covered heroin.
You cannot put the game down or get it out of your head.
There is something about Demon's Souls....
I will also say that the last cutscene is kinda endearing.
Didn't think a video game could accomplish that without being just stupidly dumb (Think FFX laugh scene).
Atlus is notorious for this, and I can't say I blame them. They usually publish kinda strange and quirky titles. To do a full on Ps3 launch would have been a bit much on a game that will turn as many gamers on as it will off. Besides, I kind of like the hard to find nature of the game. It just fits with the whole atmosphere it is going with.
The guide is useful mainly for weapon and magic upgrades. I hate not knowing what options I have in customizing my gear. Also with...
ThatCanadianguy420:
I was thinking the same thing.
I would like to see if they can spin a story with deeper issues.
Unfortunately I wont be suprised if Naughty Dog is a bit spooked about really pushing the envelop for a mature themed game because of their enormous sucess of Uncharted 2.
They have alot to lose and if it doesn't reach the pinnicle like Uncharted 2 has then many idiots would say they have lost their touch..
^^^^
HAHAHAHA, so true...Goodness I couldn't stand MSG4's story line.
There is no doubt he can craft a story, just perhaps tone down the sci-fi and get into some real issues.
In terms of presentation, graphics and cinematic prowless perhaps.
But after playing and being totally immersed in Demon's Souls, I have come to realize that not all games have to be such a graphical powerhouse to completely overwhelm you.
In Demon's Souls you have a cool art design (that makes up for the shear horsepower of graphics), a challenging yet rewarding combat system, and a creative online interaction. This game has grabbed my attention and makes me th...
I felt the same way about being dissapointed.
You can only play through the game once for the first time.
That being said...Im headed back to Demon's Souls. There are some Demon's that need some serious ass kicking.
This game is worth the Deluxe.
The guide is very useful without giving too much of the game away and your own exploration.
Disagree.
MGS4 story line was just too convoluted and sci-fi for a non-enthusiast to get behind.
A dismembered cyborg ninja? Goodness gracious. At that point I thought to myself...this is the stupidest story line I have ever witnessed that tried to take itself seriously.
But the gameplay was good.
Its going to be very difficult for them to top Uncharted 2 without some serious changes in gameplay, and/or a more in depth story than just a summer blockbuster flick.
In other words...they have they work cut out for them.
I think you are being a bit harsh, but I will spend many more hours with Demon's Souls than I will with Uncharted 2.
This article is trying to find things wrong with the game.
OMG?! The controls are sluggish?! His is injured numbnuts. Sorry you didn't like the design choice, but it was on PURPOSE.
I don't know where to go?! Are you serious? Are you the worlds worst gamer? Most times they did all but put a neon sign telling you were to go.
But But the game is too linear? Dude, you don't even know where to go in a linear game, how can you possibly handle...
I really liked the story. This could have been done with the tech for Uncharted 1 (which still looked great), and I would have received the same amount of enjoyment...perhaps minus a jaw drop here or there.
Common Sense nowadays is asking alot of gamers whom have been controling the likes of Master Chief, Ryu, and Solid Snake.
There is nothing special about your character when you first play. Every encounter can end you if you aren't careful.
And amazingly, its not cheap.
Brilliant.
GamerPS360, I was having trouble with Maneater as well.
You can move to the far left of the fog and shoot through it with a bow hitting him for very minimal damage without a strong bow. I didn't have one and each hit took off around 12-15 points. I brought like 300 or so arrows and got his power all the way down. I charged in, took him out with one hit, and then fought the other one on one. It is much easier this way, but I will warn you. Once I defeated him, I felt I chea...
Jesus would start with the Wrath of God spell and beat the game with a soul level of 1.
He would even beat the red-eyed lance wielding knight in 1-1 that is a right of passage for first time Demon's Souls players.
I can't speak more highly about this game.
I will always put the disclaimer though that if you aren't in the niche that this game was gunning for you will hate it.
I didn't think a game could be hard and not cheap. With the exception of flamelurker and maneater, it is not cheap at all.
You died because you were stupid, got frustrated and/or overconfident.
I can't get my mind out of Demon's Souls.
