Uncharted 2 for fun and Demon's Souls for challenging...Its going to be a good October.

Though Im glad this game is getting the recongnition it deserves (IE a sequal), Im still miffed its on the PSP.
If you have any part of you that enjoys thoughtful strategic games, then this is a must to pick up. You don't even have to be an RPGer to enjoy it.
Im really dissapointed in this game. All the reviews said it was a graphical powerhouse, but this...this is something that could have been done on a super nintendo.

Props to Atlus, they take risks on interesting games, and treat their customers well.
They are wiping out the serves once the game is officially released, correct?

Its seems the other genere's don't get near the competitive hate.

Alternate in Uncharted 2 when I can't take any more beatings from Demon Souls. I wont get irritated and throw the remote with Demons Souls and my 1st time experience with Uncharted 2 will be that much longer. I can savor both.

I see your point, but it is too broad of a statement.
Some games should and are adventure games. You explore, check out your surroundings, do stuff, and thats great.
Others try and tell a story.
Im not an explore because it is there kinda guy. Im an explore to move the main plot forward kind of guy.
Square Enix never had the touch.
Squaresoft were masters at story and gameplay.

I think your test of "could it be done on a last generation console" is misguided. Developers are also developing themselves asartists.
The jump from 2d to 3d can never be done again.
Take Uncharted 2 for instance.
Sure the general gameplay mechanic could be done on the Ps2 (or possibly ps1: think Tomb Raider), but what the developers there did was try and creat...
Im sure I will buy this game for the story, but from that extended demo it looks like the developers are having trouble melding gameplay with the story. Its a game that is just "choice", but perhaps it is more immersive then Im giving it credit for.
It looks like a choose your own adventure book with really good graphics.

It may be too early to tell, but this could be one of the archstones of gaming. (Note: Not BEST games, just showed new directions for their respective genres and influnced gaming as a whole)
