I kinda agree with the review score, but would not have gone so low with it.
Maybe a 7.
This game is such a cool concept, but in the end, I just don't have that much fun playing it. Of the games I bought this year.
Demon's Souls
Uncharted 2
Dragon Age
ACII.
This game is far and away dead last.
I agree with the article, but I would not have used hyperbole to make my point.
There is no denying the influence of FFVII, in that regard it is the best RPG arguably ever.
However as a long time RPG'er, starting with the original Dragon Warrior that came free with a subscription of Nintendo Power, It doesn't rank in my top 3...maybe even lower.
FFVI, is my favorite FF. I mean far and away number 1 FF. That and Chrono Trigger are tied for my fav...
Oh and Activision doesn't care that it doesn't care about you.
It made 550 million in the last few weeks. Its not them to blame, its the gamers who buy the games.
You see, I'm not sure about that.
I understand what you are saying, but I don't have that much faith in the standard gamer consumer.
I didn't buy MW2. I don't like FPS's and from most of the reviews I saw, just wasnt all that great. (Even more so that I don't like online very much). So I didn't buy it. A 16-20 year old kid with all his buddies buying the game is going to have more of an issue with sticking to principal.
Here is how you make money hand ...
If Mr. Estavillo can even get Gates near a deposition room I would be impressed.
Rest assured N4G, some very good attorneys are working on a Motion to Quash the subpoena as we speak.
I don't 7th that.
Its a good game, but Im not infactuated with it like UC2, Dragon Age, or of the highest order Demon's Souls.
Im with you. Sales are always good, but just a rehash of a game and boxed at full price is bad for the people making and playing games for the increasing creative and artistic nature of the medium.
If it is as good as Double Secret Probation then I'm in.
No Demon's Souls?
BooHiss
I just like to see innovation rewarded, and through that reward make more interesting games for me to play.
Sony has done more to push gaming than has Microsoft. I hope that continues so I can play better and better games.
I'm not a fanboy, I just like playing as many awesome games as I can. Whatever helps to that end then so be it.
Is it really?
Of the games I have purchased in 2009.
Demon's Souls
Uncharted 2
Dragon Age
AC2
AC2 is far and away the weakest of those. For me it ranks around an 8. Very good, but not completely mother effing awesome. The other 3, especially the first 2 on my list take that title of Mother Effing Awesome. Dragon Age right behind with a solid RPG experience.
eddispider: I get what you are saying.
Hear me out. This game is very very cool. Great concept, great desgin and detail, graphics are solid, and the soundtrack is perfect for the game.
Cool doesn't necessarily equal fun.
More often than not I feel like I press a few buttons and then watch the action. I think the gameplay is a tad weak compared to some others this year that have excelled in gameplay.
I would give this game an...
Nikuma: Im with you. I don't understand the love of FFX. Sure its great, but I think comes up short of FFVI, FFVII, FFIX, and even FFVIII.
I liked it as much as FFXII and that is still saying alot. People may have preferances, but they are all quality games.
I've never cried in a game though, but have felt some strong emotions.
For the MSG4 criers out there...Really? I mean, Really?
Demon's Souls really is that freakin good.
Its a solid RPG offering. Its not AMAZING or anything just a solid way to spend the cold winter months.
Demon's Souls is my game of the year.
Easy.
VC needs to be on the list.
At least they give Demon's Souls props. Fantastic game.
Link doesn't talk.
Period.
We all want to know one thing...I wont spoil it, but you know what I'm talking about.
I'd spend 30 dollars for 3 hours of game play to know the answer.
The ending of this game I thought was epic. Made the rest of the story that much better.
Ummm, Baby StingRays at the end of 4-2?
Its the pure Bladestones that are the problem.
