They weren't if FF1.
Too many white mages to deal with. For the record I thought FFX was pretty blah. The story and difficulty were just too soft compared to other FF's.
Nope, you certainly are not the only one. FFVI is by far and away my favorite Final Fantasy and ranks in my top 5 video games of all time. (Along with Chrono Trigger).
An overhaul of the graphics, with an updated script would be absolutely incredible.
I would like to see the Opera House with the ps3 graphics.
It is Oblivion(ish), but it has a more fleshed out world. The atmosphere is the same.

There was a battle scene in Redcliff where in the middle of the fight it switched to a loading screen. That was the only time I was like, WTF?
Yes, especially when you get into invading other peoples game (or helping them).
I waited till late in my second playthough because I didn't want to be a total puzzy and kick some ass when I did it.

I was skeptical at first. Very little story, dungeon crwalwer, good but not great graphics (but good art design)...hard...it just didnt seem like my type of game.

The question one would have to ask of themselves is, do they want a great story and a more traditional RPG, or do they want visceral combat and difficulty with novel online?

So far Im really liking this game. Us Ps3 guys don't have a game like this yet for the platform.
I know you can't compare what Im about to compare but I can't help it. I know its not the same game or even same type of game, but again I can't help it.

If you have ANY interest in a cool story, strategic gameplay and a beautiful art design then you owe it to yourself to pony up 20 bucks.
You will feel guilty that you paid that for such a great game, but not that guilty.
It was my favorite game of 2008, yes, even over MGS4. It is also my second favorite SRPG behind FFtactics.
Uncharted 2 will probably win because of what it has done with visuals and presentation.
But for me and alot of other maschosits out there, Demon's Souls is going to our personal GOTY. It's a simple game really when you think about it. Evil has taken over the land, go kick its ass. Never was an FPS kinda guy.
And then once you complete you first playthrough of Demon's Souls and feeling pretty good about yourself you decide "Well, let me play 1-1 again in New Game+...I mean I am a bad ass at this game." Then off to play another game.

I'm not sure a sequal right away is the correct course of action for this game.
What is giving this game the praise it is getting and deserves is the refreshing difficulty of the game. The brutal learning curve. The online (which I love more than any other...I don't like chatting with other people or playing deathmatches), and creative level design.
If all this were blended again, it just wouldn't have that same WOW factor it does now.
