"None of the RPGs of the last 4 years have come close to the cinimatic intensity of the best Squaresoft games of the '90s. Nobody even comes close to ChronoTrigger, Final Fantasy VI (It was called III in the US),Xenogears, etc."
Could not agree more. The games were epic.
Now granted, Im all for classic RPG's. I started playing Dragon Warrior on the NES, but I don't miss having to draw maps out on grid paper. That was just kinda i...
Try Resonance of Fate if you haven't already.
Very JRPG...and very under-rated
Im curious to see how Two Worlds 2 is reviewed.
Kinda looks good.
Fallout New Vegas for sure.
Then depending heavily on reviews, Two Worlds 2, Artelier Rorona; maybe even Trinity Zill.
Yeah, I need an RPG fix in a bad way :/
Dude had his hator-ade last night.
I'm not a Halo fan or enjoy FPSs at all, but goodness, space marines fighting aliens is not exactly the canvass for Shakespear.
Guy just needs to sit back and enjoy a FPS that is seemless, smooth and casual FPS that is top of the market.
With Kerrigan winning, they might as well have called the list "the best summer of 2010 villian of all time ZOMG?!"
Greatest game villians have to be in no particular order:
Bowser
Sephiroth
Kefka
Ganon
Im kinda hoping Two Worlds 2 gets some good scores...I need an RPG fix before Fallout New Vegas comes out.
"I want to see less shooters and more RPGs. I want to see games have more interaction and complexity than a shooting gallery"
The thought behind this comment is what is wrong with the industry right now. Too many developers are going after the casual market. Sure, I understand everybody is out to make a buck, but there has to be a market for complex, intricate, and difficult games right? RIGHT?! (Demon's Souls, Resonance of Fate (very underrated actually) ...
The triumph of kicking an invading Black Phantom's azz has not been achieved in gaming in over 10 years.
If it's a solid RPG, doesn't even have to be near Demon's Souls, but just a solid RPG...Good Combat...Good Story...Cool enviroments...then Im in.
I think he was more or less taking a stab at most FPS nowadays and the whole "sci-fi" atmosphere.
Mafia at least tried a different setting. L.A. Noire looks to be better but who knows?
Some people never understood how FROM went from the mediocrity of Ninja Blade and the mech game (dont remember the name) to a masterpiece called DS. Yeah, you got it: Sony Japan.
Lots of things had to come together to make DS the masterpiece that it is. We all know that anything one thing out of balance would have made that game terrible.
Im concerned that with Sony Japan not being involved, part of that balance will be lost. I hope I'm wrong. I...
You may be able to make an argument that Final Fantasy has in recent years milked the series, but to use Final Fantasy Tactics, a true gem in strategy RPG's, shows the fact that you have never played it, and probably never owned the system in which it is played on.
I used to play it before school but would get so mad if I didn't make a jump my mom would not let me play it before school.
It was in this very game I learned the art of the controller throw.
Good times.
Gaming, a habit I've had for 23 years.
I mean, it was easy and casual, but nonetheless an enjoyable experience.
I miss the days of the hardcore RPG (Demon's Souls excluded of course)
I like the concept quite a bit.
Im hoping it is good.
I am sick of the generic "brown" color scheme.
Its not that its ONE game that does it...its that all have seemed to embraced this.
Those were some solid games right there.
The focus on graphics and less about innovative, creative, and stimulating games.
Dragon Warrior IV! You have to admit, those sells are epic for 1990.
I played that game too...yes....its actually greatness.
