I played DA:0 on console and I tell you, this game looks alot better. Played the demo, and the demo played better.
PC Gamers are the ones really throwing a temper-tantrum here (and maybe rightly so).
All I know is this. Bioware this generation has yet to make a game I dont enjoy playing. Does it appeal to my "hardcore" roots, no. Do I want it to? Well, maybe, but there are some other games coming out this year that will fill that void. ...
Because the PC gamers are throwing a hissy fit.
I guess a lot of people flipped on that demo, but that demo was meant for one audience they are looking for (the causal shooter type people that they keep talking about). Heck, they even game them a difficulty. Normal. The vets will play on difficult.
What were these people doing with over 100 hours of DA:0? Multiple playthroughs...yeah ok, fine, but for one? No way.
I did a nice portion of the side quests, took my time through the game and only hit about 40-45.
Loved the first one...NOW COME TO THE PSN!
I will buy many, but the one Im looking forward to the most is Dark Souls, and really, it's not even close.
Thats saying a ton...this year is stacked.
Vagrant Story....savor it.
DA:O being 60 hours? Lulz.
So basically you are telling me that this will be an AT MOST 30 hour game.
Its not bad, and Im sure I will enjoy it, but this is the year of the RPG for this generation. And a 30 hour stripped down RPG (but probably pretty fun) is not going to stand up to The Witcher 2, Skyrim, and of course the game I'm looking forward to the most..Dark Souls.
No joke. Its amazing to see that the games SquareSoft made in the 90's are so incredibly good that we all still cling to the hope that SquareEnix will somehow create the same experience.
RIP SquareSoft.
Ya know, Im kinda interested in Dungeon Siege III....
You do realize that they already have an eye on consoles for this game right?
Straight from the developers mouth
Game is right in the middle of mixed. If you like wRPGs, then the game is for you. If you don't, then you wont.
Im with you. Everybody seems to have this revisionist history about DAO.
If someone was a PC Gamer, fine they have something to complain about, but console players?
Goodness, the combat was a most pit in the bottom of your screen or a mage spamming AoE spells with the difficulty turned down as to not inflict friendly fire.
I welcome the new battle system as a console player.
Its a solid game that is quite enjoyable.
Is it the ZOMG BEST GAMEZ EVAAA! No, it isint.
If you are looking for a decent wRPG romp with some "B-Movie" type qualities to it, then this is your game.
Wait till it drops in price.
FFVI: It is so much better than any other FF that was created before or after it, its just staggering
It retains more "RPG"-ness than Mass Effect 2 did. I've played the demo a couple of times now and I just don't see why there is some hate for it. It feels exactly like the first one and insteads of the auto-attack in which you kept massing X anyway, now you actually do something. The PC Gamers have been vocal, and they are the ones who got shafted, but for console, this is better mechancially at least. Gamers always have very revisionist history.
Its...
Wow that title was exteremly misleading. But you can see that the whole company took a more "for the masses" (no pun intended with mass effect) approach to the games design. Nonetheless, this will be my March purchase and Im sure I will get a kick out of it. I doubt it will be my GOTY with Dark Souls, Skyrim, LA Noire, Mass Effect 3, and a few sleepers I have my eye on, but it will be fun nonetheless.
You know, I wish more developers took the FromSoftware ap...
This does look good, but there are so many issues they need to address from Oblivion.
Are the quests actually going to be compelling?
Will the leveling not be terrible?
The music and visuals are certainly amazing. Combat looks improved.
This game will have to beat Dark Souls in my book...I sincerly doubt that will happen.
Actually, in your sentance they are different. The "E" is in the first one but the "e" is in the second.
As for Kran's entry. He is right the jump with the phrase "has some huge differences to" is a leap between both Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 2 nobody complained about.
