Now thats funny.
Ive neverr played again with such extreme highs and lows....Some of the story is quite brilliant while the repetitive dungeons are (and no pun intended) an abomination.
This game has had me interested for awhile. I wish they would release more on it.
Demon's Souls is a modern day classic.
But Chrono Trigger and FFVI are incredible games.
And also a badly written review
Well this is certainly a little late to the party.
Not that I give a flying eff about box art, BUT I did think the cover for Demon's Souls Delux edition with the knight slumped in the corner with arrows sticking out of the shield capture the mood of the game perfectly.
Quite cool.
Im curious to see what they do with FFXIII-2. I didn't think FFXIII was horrid, it just didn't capture what makes good RPG's. Funny because it was Squaresoft that taught us all what to look for in good RPG's.
Im looking forward to picking this up.
Rage and Skyrim coming out two months apart...epic.
Accessibility is one thing, but DA:2 (when compared to DA:O) lost its heart.
Its the re-used areas....thats in excusable for what is supposed to be "Immersive."
Besides, they didn't even do a great job giving the city life. I felt Midgar in FFVII was more immersive.
All that negativity though, there are moments of brilliance in the game. The writing and (since Im a console gamer) the combat are excellent.
Either you really hated Red Dead or your are playing this game up a little too much.
The game is a solid 8. Good, but you aren't going to put a copy udnerneath your pillow and hope you dream about it.
I'd give the nod to FFXIII myself. The hate for that game is a tad overblown.
Both games are solid 8's. Good RPG's but not near as good as their predessors so they get railed.
I've never been all that into multiplayer, and everybody says you play these things for the multiplayer. I've played a few FPS, but they never quite grabbed my attention.
Rage, with a solid story so they say, open area gameplay, a sense of progression (RPG elements, but they are reluctant to say it) and a cool art style, has me interested.
FFXIII wasn't that bad.
I further take issue with the bash against FFXII. FFX is where the misery started.
I 100% whole heartedly disagree with this article.
We are now seeing development costs come down a little bit and the arms race for "ZOMG, THE BEST GRAPHICS" has slowed.
This leaves room for developers to experiment with games and get more creative...take some more risks.
In other words, we are going to see more creative, better games and more often than we did in the beginning of the generation.
This game looks excellent. This will be the first FPS I have ever bought, (and ive been gaming since the 80s)
Good, oblivion bored me.
Fallout 3 didn't...Morrowind didn't.
Thus, figure out what makes the latter 2 games not boring and profit for Skyrim.
Having lived in Austin, I remember when SXSW was un-commercial and awesome....now its commercial and hipsters....thanks alot for ruining something great where a Texan could eat some bbq and drink shiner in peace.
1) Flesh out a more fully realized world (IE, NO REPEATING DUNGEONS)
then after that
2) Re-think the "second wave" type combat...but you can keep the style...I liked it for consoles...
3) Consider making more quests tie into the main story to make it feel more epic. Too many random side quests, not enough main quests...this isin't mass effect (it works well for mass effect...don't get me wrong)
That rig...
