As time goes on, this game is getting more and more interesting.
I agree with you, he did use the words "more artfully," but I also didn't say that they regretted using repetitive enviroments...I just said changed the way they recyled enviroments.
Of all the things to beetch about in this game...that is easily number one. I have no problem with experimenting with a framed narrative and a more personal story, but if a developer is going to do that, they need to make the enviroments in particulary interesting to make up fo...
As this game gets closer, Im getting more interested. Might check out a review or two first
Careful with the spoliers in that artcile.
He would say he would have changed the way they recyled enviroments....Yeah...no kidding. That made the game feel clastraphobic. Not good for a high fantasy RPG.
Other than that...Im still getting a kick out of the game.
As stated with the lot of you, Terra really wasn't a main character, but a character that helped drive the plot forward. The "group" of FFVI has yet to be duplicated in any modern RPG. You really felt like you were part of their struggle. No one person stood out.
Cecil wasn't strange either, a tale of redemption is fairly common (and awesome).
In Final Fantasy terms, Id go with Vaan from FFXII, he is the "main character" as ...
Looks great.
I laughed because I have a Learn to play Guitar Video....Got some decent blues riffs out of it actually.
Goodness, this...speachless.
I want this game.
Probably more along the lines of "this is the issue, now go fix it."
They mentioned something about a "dark race" or something.
If my guess is correct, then it will be wonderfully refreshing to have a game design like that.
Make the story longer?
Its like 60 hours as it stands now.
That really is amazing.
And what is even more amazing is that I have never played it or own any other FPS.
XBOX or PS3, just keep on making quality games. The rest...I could care less about.
The more I see of this game, the more interested I am.
"The way I put it to my team is that we are trying to make the most difficult game it is possible to make, which at the same time can be conquered by those who persevere. It has to be firm, but fair.”
EFFING BRILLIANT. I hope this is true. It really takes true skill as a developer to be able to get this balance just right. From did it with SonyJapan last time. Let's see if they can keep the balance on their own.
The game is fine. Its not the greatest game ever created, and is probably being unfairly compared to its former, but Its a fine game. 7.5-8. Nothing incredibly special, but a solid offering.
Now bring me Dark Souls.
This is my personal front runner and certainly this game is a dark horse for GOTY's.
Ultimately, the game will probably prove to be too inaccessible to many players.
A few websites (like gamespot) may not care, but overall all....no probably not.
loved it.
It needs to work on questing, but overall the atmosphere and writing were state of the art.
The game is alot of fun and will be my March game.
Now bring me LA Noire, Dungeon Seige III, Skyrim, Dues Ex, Rage,
and finally Dark Souls.
Decent list with the exception of the games listed because of Difficulty settings.
To me, you have to judge the game in its native format.
Playing MGS4 for the achivement or something is a choice.
To play and beat Demons's Souls, Simon's Quest, Mario, Battletoads, you have no choice but to plow through.
A memorable misstep is probably a good way to put it.
Standing alone, this game is a solid 8-8.5, but the sucess of the first one and the fully realized world compared to this leaner one....it just doesn't hold up as well.
Im still enjoying it, but I certainly have my eye on other games. Skyrim, Dark Souls, even Bioware's own Me3 will blow this one clean out of the Dragon Age and into the Rabbit Age.
