Im with you dude...No voice chat....That would be TERRIBLE
You call this a love affair?
Try playing FFVI and Chrono Trigger for the first time around the age of 12. Yeah...that's an experience I've been trying to emulate for the last 17 years.
I LOATHE Multiplayer. I see the appeal for others, but it is not my thing.
I did like Demon's Souls online though...that was very cool.
Niche is right.
Meh, if I have to the JRPG thing then Ill wait for Ar Tonrlinco (sp). So many good games coming out though.
Dragon Age 2? yeah, see ya later March.
Don't really care if the visuals take a slight hit.
I hear the story and overall experience is pretty solid (if its the same as the Witcher)
“It’s doable to make a game that won’t be crap,”
Made me laugh
So many good RPG's this year.
For me personally Dark Souls is the early favorite, but the field is wide open.
Um yeah.
More people know who Lara Croft is than Gordan Freeman
I hope this game has a great 40's jazz soundtrack...That would be sweet.
My impressions are as follows:
It started off pretty bad. Long tutorial, atrocious voice acting/lip sync, that sort of stuff. But then, it kinda gets "B" movie type funny, so it wasn't so bad.
Then when it opened up I started to really like it.
By mid chapter 2 (of 4), I grew tired of having to sift through the mindless side quests to find the truely great ones. In the end, I got tired of the the questing tedium, rush...
Im a sucker for Morrigan. That plot development late in the game was too WTF and awesome to never be addressed again. (Maybe this game, maybe DA:3)
It may not be the most graphically impressive game I've ever seen, but the animations are smooth, the combat (though losing its tactical edge... but lets be honest...it was only tactical for the PC...the console combat was pretty attrocious) looks engaging and fun.
I've been excited for awhile because Im a sucker for BioWare RPG's, but this really does look good.
Thought same thing
Can't really compare them, but if I were to say which one I will probably like more in terms of it comsuming me...then I'd say Dark Souls.
Im getting real tired of the sandbox game. They are so freakin tedious.
Its Namco's call.
For those of us who love Demon's Souls...I don't care if every great game in all of 2011 came out on the same day as Dark Souls, its my number 1 purchase.
(That really is saying alot...2011 really is the year of the RPG).
Pretty solid list actually.
FF6...this is the best.
Argue all you want, but know that you are wrong.
Get your dexterity up and get a sticky compound bow +5.
Offensive, probably Firestorm.
As usual dc1, we are in complete agreement.
There games don't "translate" well to western audiences. That simple.
Then you find a japanese developer who can do it, and the games are phenominal. Kojima, though I don't particularly like MGS4, the game was a great success.
Also, FromSoftware. You guys are awesome.
If japan would get away from the "cutie" type game characters and flat character development, then the games will come over in droves once...
All depends on the genere (as stated above).
If I played a 6-10 hour RPG, I'd be VERY ticked.
