I'd say 8 is about right for this game.

I'll be honest, I was hoping that this was going to be one part Mass Effect, one part Boarderlands, and one part Halo.

That would have been a true masterpiece if executed correctly.

Instead I got a very pretty and very good "shooter" with not enough of the other elements to really change up the FPS formula.

Im enjoying my time with it for sure, and worth 60 bucks, bu...

The game is certainly "good" and in many ways great.

That said, I was hoping for more of an RPG feel with a good story and fleshed out world.

I got a very good FPS with some good leveling.

There is a very real concern with corruption in gaming journalism and a variety of other marketing tools utilized by the industry.

However, unfortunately with this particular incident, it bumps up against the privacy and rights of individuals, mixed with some pretty bad slurs.

As such, I believe this case is not the best case to really examine corruption because there are just too many hot topic issues involved.

What is unfortunate about the internet is that there are some posters who immediately go into very personal attacks and insults not even listening to the message.

Instead of voicing a critique of the position, truly deplorable slurs are tossed out, everyone picks a side and circles the wagons limiting any intellectual debate.

Here is the typical cycle:
(1) Article is posted taking a social commentary position on video games.
(2) Immature poste...

This is right on the money from what I can tell.

MS took on too much, and forgot one simple fact, gamers buy consoles.

They positioned the Xbone to not only fight Sony, but also Apple for control of the living room. Focusing on multimedia, strangely focusing on Kinnect (chasing that wii market perhaps), that DRM thing, they just totally wiffed.

GAMERS PLAY GAMES. Sony showed a focus on games and marketed that way. Sony is cheaper, sony is more powerful...Sony will get more sales. That simple.

Ugh, this story. Way too personal for my liking.

Regardless, I think the whole "if this were a man, it wouldn't be a story" is completely BS. My gawd, if the tables were turned, and a women posted an account of the dude cheating on her and the guy "colluding" with female journalists, it would be a story.

What's unfortunate is that there is indeed a real story here, but is muddied with a lot of bigoted slurs and attacks.

And you are an Aggie? Dude...Im disappointed in you. New army obviously can't see the forest for trees and understand that this little challenge has done a lot of good.

This is simple.

"Mature" games as rated by the ESRB is simply qualifying he gore, sex and language. That's it.

As for actual mature themes, few games really explore mature concepts and rarely does the actual "maturity" of the game relate to its ESRB rating.

I can certainly understand using ports to fill some of the gaps that have been the beginning of this generation. This, like many other generations, generation has on the whole been pretty weak in game line up.

That said, if developers keep relying on ports, then Im going to be very very irritated. I don't replay games and do not double dip.

However, it seems this fall we will finally start to see some fresh games, even if they are cross-platform.

I honestly can't think of anything in video games I don't want to happen more than the propose proposition.

I don't need a space opera, but a serviceable story would be quite welcomed as I play most games solo.

Jack,
My reading comprehension is just fine. So fine in fact that I quoted your first post back to you in an effort to show that I not only read your post, but pointed out specifically the criticism I had with your post.

Your use of the conjunction "but" after your "I agree that parents shouldn't be buying MA rated games for there kids", weakens the first part of the sentence.

No doubt you are not advocating passing out GT...

Jack,
Then what are you trying to say? Are you merely expressing your frustration that you are "sick and tired of hearing from you young single people (who I'm sure most of you are not parents) cheering "blame the parents for this or that."

If so, well, then frustrate away. But the way you delivered your frustration seemed to imply that you somehow did not believe the blame was justified. (Which it is).

Regardless, with your own ...

This irritates me. I mean come'on. I didn't buy a ps4 to play games I already played on the ps3...I don't care how awesome the framerate is.

The fall will address these concerns as some new stuff is coming out...thank goodness.

And why not blame parents for this?

Parents are responsible for their children. As adult gamers we can enjoy games that are deserving of the "M" rating. When content of "M" rating video games and the artistic integrity of developers to deliver more adult-themed content (or the juvenile view of adult themed content...(that's another discussion)) is threated because kids are getting their hands on these games, then rightly, blame is to be placed.

This game looks awesome.

My only concern is that I can't get "alone" quick enough.

Stranger in a foreign land....

I would be pleased as punch if the main story was between 40-50 hours.

HEHe, beat me to it.

This is a terrible article from an argument perspective.

This article is terrible. I have yet to read a good article explaining why the unbundling of Kinnect is bad...other than saying...XBOX's VISION WAS FUTURE..NOW ITS NOT....ITS BAD FOR US ALL.

As a matter of fact...this article is making me more angry the more I think about it.

"A pro-consumer decision doesn't always equate to the best outcome for the industry, " (From the article)

Eff this guy. Really? Then what would be t...
