Nope.
And what poorly written article....
How about..."lets treat everyone with respect." Let's start there.
What a refreshing and thoughtful video.
We call all agree there are some terrible "bad apples" that happen to voice their opinions on games and the people that make them (mixed with some immaturity), but this video essentially speaks for the massive silent majority.
That "hipster taking a cultural class" (or close to it) line was solid gold.
'I've been waiting for is game since its announcement.
The concept alone is worth a playthough.
Hehe, so many of these are dead on.
Agreed.
Not putting the lore in the actual effing game was a HUGE mistake.
The game is fine. A solid 7 or 7.5.
The issue is that the game is not really what was marketed. And further, what was marketed was truly going to be amazing and revotionary. Instead. Just a rock solid FPS. Again, which is fine. so 7/7.5
Damn, Whatever brings him joy.
The game revierers really got excited to give this game a low score.
Being as objective as I can and playing the game for what it is and not what I wanted it to be, its a solid 7-8.
Great fun FPS combat.
Its not one part mass effect, one part boarderlands, one part Halo mixed with some MMOgoodness, which I think we were all hoping for. But after the sting of that wears off, its a solid game. So, 7-8.
I think the score is a little low honestly. Somewhere between a 7 or 8 is where I would put it.
But as the article eloquently discusses. The game aches of squandered opportunity.
Conceptually, the game was going to be epic. Mass Effect, Boarderlands, and Halo all wrapped up with some MMOness? Oh hell yeah. Instead, it was a solid FPS. There are glimpses of the aforementioned peppered in the game, and that makes it all the more hurtful when you see w...
Sony didn't need to "buy into the hype." You see how many copies and consoles it already sold? It wanted to get out ahead in the FPS race. So you have to look at Destiny along with Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc. In that regard, Im sure they view the game as a success.
Now, even more gamers own a ps4. And will buy games for the Sony platform.
Im cautiously optimistic.
I really dislike remakes. Sure, in the early years of a new console I can see the value, but eff. I want something new.
Like...a new Red Dead.
This is the score I would give it as well.
Once the initial sting of the game not being one part Mass Effect, one part Boarderlands, one part Halo wears off, you are left with a fun and rock solid FPS.
That's a 7.5.
On another note, someone please forward to Bungie.
Hello Bungie, This is Tex117. This is m first Bungie game to play since Halo one back in the dorms of college.
You guys made a great...
IM cautiously optimistic.
Well, there really wasn't a lot of "hype" until Titanfall came and went. The alpha and beta that were open to a lot of players really fueled the hype.
I personally was hoping for one part Mass Effect, one part Boarderlands, one part Halo mixed in with some MMO stuff. That would have been pretty damn ambitious and "next-gen." Instead, we got a rock solid FPS with some rpg elements (more illusion than real customization).
Its a fin...
Seashells....
Well, people enjoying the game are playing it. The critics take over any major dialog of a game post-release because they are not playing it.
I personally think this reviewer was subject to the insane amount of hype, and was let down.
As objective as I can be, I would give this game a 7 or 8.
It is a rock solid FPS, strong gameplay mechanics and atmosphere that is not a corridor, but still a "big room." Its very pretty though.
That right there warrants a 7 or 8. There is certainly aspects to enjoy.
If you came into the game thinking it was one part Mass...
I think Im about 6 hours and only level 8. Im taking my time with the missions and patrols. Just enjoying the ride.
ContinuePlay,
What you were trying to say is, of course, welcomed.
I took issue with the following assertion,
"Not only that, but the gaming community itself has been recognized as a sexist one, especially by the media and people who experience video games not through playing them, but through knowing others who play."
Much of your article hinges upon this general proposition.
Relying upon "media"...
