Like other commenters, I cannot justify 40 dollars (ps4) for a 1.5-2 hour game. That's 20 bucks an hour of entertainment value...no way.

That and I dont want this practice to catch on.

If they offered for 10 bucks? Sure.

Its not over yet for Nintendo.

But there has always been some sort of brilliance to their game design.

I wish Ubi sent me that survey.

One thing I do have to hand it to Ubisoft, they are at least trying to get it right.

I think they are on to something with the Pirate thing, but really doesn't need to be associated with an Assassins game.

If they make it a stand alone game, they need to do a few things.

(1) Get some great writers to make a great pirate tale...drop the AC stuff. Make it "Pirates of the Carribean&quo...

Way too early to tell in the generation which console will ultimately be "the best."

Dear gawd, remember the first few years of Xbox 360 v Ps3 (that launched a year behind)...To alot of people, the fat lady was already warming up.

IMO, I do think the PS4 will "win" this go around. Its lazer focus on building a machince for developers to make GAMES IMO will carry alot more weight than an Xbox One who was more focused on the living room and...

He should have said "AAA development as a widespread business model to be emulated by all developers and publishers is unhealthy."

No, difficult does not always mean good.

However, when difficulty is used to accentuate and intensify an experience demanding your full at utmost attention, that magical "immersion" moment tends to happen more often.

The Souls games are a perfect example of that to me.

I think he means more of the basic systems, like wtf is poise? Why is it important?

That sort of stuff.

You really are kind of an idiot aren't you?

No way this is Fallout 4. No way.

That said, I wish Bethesda would design the atmosphere of Fallout 4 and let Obsidian write it. THat would be the best of both developers.

Dude,
FFIX
FFXII
FF14L ARR

Are all great.

Yeah, they are. They just moved over to the handhelds.

Some very good stuff on those systems.

Beating that game when I was like 10 remains one of my greatest gaming accomplishments.

For a new relatively obsecure IP (ie, not "The Last of Us") this is a great score.

Games that have things like "original story and an original gameplay experience" ascribed to them rarely score over an 8.

I will be picking this up on sale as soon as I can.

Nope, list is invalid.

Doesn't have Johnny and River from the game To the Moon.

Dude, the 1960's anti-hero motif was lost on most gamers.

I thought it was arguable the best ending in video game history.

It actually was complex...just like you said...he HAD to die, and if you didn't see it coming (or want it to happen), then you don't understand westerns or what the game was getting at.

As for the next one (and the thought tickles my loins). Give me some more characters. John and Jack told their story.

I think if Capcom gives this another go with some more polish and refinements, this could be a truly incredible game.

I liked Dragons Dogma, it was a very good game, but somethings...were just irritating.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion for sure, but that review really should have started with.

I really don't like JRPG's. They have never clicked with me, and No Ni Kuni is no different.

That would have summed it up.

Mine was the Maiden Astrea.

You know if you know.

Square really has lost its way.

It has lost what made their games in the 90's (and hell, even the ps2 generation) magical.

4797d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

Im not sure we can blame the western media for this. Its not like we got a huge onslaught of JRPG's in the beginning of this generation, and then it dried up. If anything, the early ones were well reviewed.

IMO, western audiences were not buying enough to justify the cost of a full on HD RPG. It was a risky proposition.

Players were buying Call of Duty, Uncharted, Halo, Skyrim etc...not some quirky Japanese RPG.

So to minimize cost, ...
