Pretty much this for me as well.

I was hoping this game would have been better as well. As someone who enjoys an occasional SRPG, I was ready for some challenge.

However, cheap deaths in SRPG's are rage inducing to me.

Guess I'll play Fire Emblem again.

I think its a bit early to say that.

But its certainly not a strong year...but few times release years are strong.

Secret of Mana. Snow level.

Dat Soundtrack.

Regardless of this score, there is a enough positive press out there to warrant a purchase for me.

I was not expecting the reviews to be this high! I was cautiously optimistic to now, day one!

"Misrepresent" in a legal context? No.

But we all saw the potential to have it be something truly remarkable.

Instead, we got a solid FPS. Not the mass effect boarderlands, halo hybrid we all wanted.

I think gamers are getting burned out on "hype" for games that don't deliver.

I think gamers are suffering from an as usual weak launch year.

With the exception of TLOU (which was really just a great story), there has not been an ambitious new console game with decidedly different features and gameplay in a few years.

That said, I think there is some good stuff coming out this fall and next year that will get everything back o...

Once the sting of it not being one part mass effect, one part boarderlands and one part halo, I can see the game for it is. (Damn, I want to play that game)

The story being in those grimoire cards is an exceedingly bad game design flaw. Wow. Without them, the story is nonsensical.

It is a rock solid FPS. Solid game play, soundtrack is excellent, and its pretty. That's a 7 right there.

That said, the endgame content really does give...

Good grief, this is not a representative score of what was played.

Its a solid FPS. Nothing more, nothing less. Great soundtrack. Great Gunplay. that's a 7. easy.

The game is certainly a solid 7-8.

However, between Bungies comments and the way the game is structured, you can almost feel that they had other ideas for it, but couldn't execute. Time constraints, tech, Activision, who knows?

Almost like half way through production someone with the person strings said "You want to make what?! We want something that will sell, not some untested MMO FPS mix" and they had to tone everything back.

Though I think the criticism is a bit too harsh, I agree with this sentiment.

If AAA games can become even better and not given a free pass, then all games will improve.

I hope the days of the hype train perpetuating perfect 10's and 9s will be fewer and farer between.

You do see the difference in a game designed to be MMOish and a console to always be online correct?

My. Gawd.

Put it in my veins.

Im positive I will buy it, but damn, there is something about the "Japanese" character design along with those beasts and setting that seems incoherent to me.

Nobody deserves this. I don't care what they are talking about.

I hate everything about how this issue has been presented and in many ways corrupted.

At no point should personal attacks be thrown at anyone. That's it. End of story. Nothing, and I mean, nothing good can come from it.

There is a debate to be had about corruption in gaming journalism, but the way it was teed up with Quinns ex-boyfriend's post is not the correct way to do this. It just isn't. It is not a clean way to debate. There are two is...

There is nothing in my post that in any way invalidates a female gamer. Nor is here anything in the link I posted that "invalidates" female games. Games are fun, and the more the merrier.

Viewing who are the primary audiences for certain types of games is necessary to view the topic objectively.

Really? Do you honestly believe that?

There is no difference in the type of consumer between an only angry bird player and an only Call of Duty player?

Or, ya know, "core gamers" tend to be male by an overwhelming margin.

Its not a "must" be testosterone, it is merely that it "IS." Not that "IS" can't change, but gotta start with facts first.

Also, to Saito's point, do you think that casual candy crush type games should be discussed in...
