Let’s see if they can top Xenogears! That game was ahead of its time with the criticism it had towards religions.

I wanted this to become closer to FFT and Tactics Ogre. Tired of the relationship scenes, I want more politics, more plot, more happenings that are meaningful in the game world and antagonists who have a great reasoning morally behind for being evil. Much easier to write textbook anime-esque relationship crap.

That being said, Persona 5 was ok. Albeit I enjoyed the adult characters more than the student stuff.

I very much dislike the idea of selling the initial PS5 to upgrade to the Pro version three years into the cycle. I'd be happy to pay $300-$600 more for a supercharged console over the base model immediately to save that hassle. If they don't have a Pro model in the beginning, I'm actually thinking of skipping the base model and wait for three years. There would be much more exclusive content available then as well.

I think they should have $399 base model with ...

Ok Ok I give up! I give it to Ryzen 3700X, but still not impressed by Navi. While AMD stock has been quite high recently, they are still losing CPU market share to Intel, and that's a fact. Let's see if that turns around. Also, AMD consecutively lost market share to Nvidia up in 2018 for full 4 quarters, they've been able to get some % back after a long losing streak. I think it's 77.3% Nvidia and rest AMD mostly, plus Intel.

What I'm saying is that they...

Yeah sure, I buy the Ryzen argument to an extent. But I have hard time believing it will beat Intel's 10nm CPUs, and what happens when Intel moves to 7nm and 5nm? Would they be moving to 5nm or 3nm faster than Intel, and if the benefits are diminishing, can't Intel just lower their prices? Plus, it doesn't beat 9900K in every single test, just some of them. But yeah, it is bang for the buck, I won't deny that.

And yes, Nvidia is ahead by two generations stil...

It's like Richard at Digital Foundry said, it took a die shrink to 7nm to be able to compete with Nvidia top Mid-range GPUs at 16nm (pseudo 12nm) and Intel's best 12nm CPUs. Even with 7nm AMD can't compete with 12nm single-core performance, and with 7nm GPUs they can't compete against Nvidia's pseudo 12nm top range (2070 super, 2080, 2080 super, 2080 ti.) Plus the CPUs and GPUs run louder, hotter and need relatively a lot of wattage to keep up. GPUs lack extra features suc...

Well, I'm not a tech wizard but from what I've gather so far, is that it is quite difficult to have too much of secret sauce on top of the typical advantage of low level optimization consoles have. Navi's 5700 performance in a $400 box with Ryzen CPU and an SDD is already a miracle in itself. MS and Sony won't be breaking even at that price point. It's just how the business is nowadays. The evidence is speaking against all the hype now.

So this would mean next-gen consoles will be having a performance roughly equivalent of RTX 2070 coupled with an SSD, and a new CPU architecture. That is an excellent improvement for $400 - $500.

This will be a bigger leap than PS3 to PS4, but won't be as big as PS2 to PS3. However, we are already super-charged with graphics, so it's time to concentrate on higher frame-rates, better AI and physics. Bigger, more intelligent worlds which look and feel more immersive. ...

Not speaking for me for sure. I bought the Digital Deluxe Edition of Shenmue 3 for PS4, the most expensive possible version. Even if III isn't perfect, with the money and criticism they will get, they can make a much better IV. I believe that will be Yu Suzuki's masterpiece.

Yeah I heard there are some really good deals there, too. I heard the pricing is around the same as HK PSN, or even lower.

Asia account was super good until recently, but the quality of the translations from Japanese to Mandarin were pretty low quality, so I opted for the more expensive Japan account, plus my Japanese is way better than mandarin. If you live in Japan, it is the only way to access the video contents of local dramas and movies with Japanese subtitles, because...

Good, because I have both. I just bought Japan PS+ because there was a sale where I used 20000 JPY, and with a 30% discounted 3 months plus I could still benefit of extra discounts for about 2500yen compared to buying without +. Asia was my favourite PSN last year, but this year they are removing Japanese language contents, so I'm moving back to PSN Japan 100%. Going to be back in Tokyo soon again anyway.

I haven't bought into the hype itself, because I'm fine with RTX 2070 level performance. I'm expecting 3x the power of PS4 Pro, although the traditional TFLOPS metrics will be around 8.5 - 9.5 from current 4.2. While I've had an SSD in my Pro from day one (made a big difference), it wasn't designed around it so I'm expecting even better performance there. And the CPU should finally allow us to get decent physics, higher frame rates and essentially bigger worlds.

I think it's great people do stuff like this, but to be fair, it never fits the original art style, plus you can see some of the new textures mess up with the Japanese characters in the textures. Clearly someone western have made these without the knowledge of the language.

There's a high chance you will get the original and X on Switch. I think the team is now helping with BOTW sequel, and probably they need cash for the next X game meanwhile, and the remakes would be the fastest way to get it.

I heard the exact opposite from people who played the third one in E3, but hey, each to their own!

A nice list!

I'd add also Shenmue III. It has a lot of RPG features such as stats you can improve, fighting system, fully explorable world (with many details), and mini-games which are typical for RPGs. It also has a story with RPG style elements in its core (particularly towards the end of part II.)

Sure, Japan manufactured items might still have the reputation they had in the 90s, but it's worthy to note that in the last two decades China and Taiwan have grown into having some of the best manufacturing (look at TMSC for example in semiconductors space) infrastructure and facilities. Sure, mainland China doesn't have the expertise to work with the latest and greatest technology even if they had the equipment, but they are probably the best choice to assemble 2-3 years old technol...

I heard from people I know well and who spent a few hours with him that he is a really down to earth type of a guy and doesn’t care for titles. He seems interested in a lot of stuff and reads a lot. A kind of a director personality who is nice with people, but still very artistic.

Just what I gathered!
