I think most Japanese developers are much more humble than their Western counterparts, however, it would be naive to think they don't have billion dollar corporations trying to milk their customers to the last penny. I mean look at the mobile game business there, it can be worse than the Western world.
Console developers do seem different though, it's old school business for people who are talented and learn through mistakes. These guys seem to be really wanting th...
Just keep that L1 down and you will do just fine. It's the same as with Dark Souls, your posture will break if you hold it too long. Now you just got a meter for it.
@Ultranova
Oh they can? How do you know this for a fact? Have you spoken to someone at Sony to confirm they can allocate resources Bluepoint at any time?
You are assuming they have people without projects who are ready to assist a third party studio with a full-scale AAA project. I don’t think business works like that. They are busy bees and invest in where the money comes in the easiest.
From the development perspective, I don't think it can be anything fully Japanese with a lot of Japanese voice acting, because BluePoint wouldn't understand how to sync all the dialogue the right way in new scenes, and I'm quite sure they won't have new dialogue done for their re-envisioning. The less the game has dialogue and particularly cut scenes with dialogue that is hard to carry over, the better. Demon's Souls would fit this well, as the dialogue is easy to implemen...
Nuts! Waiting to see what they can create in Dreams. With PS5 + PSVR2 Dreams will be crazy...
The biggest challenge is to keep the battle system as it is while adding to it. It was the ultimate active turn-based system around, and they should not change it. Materia system etc. should not be changed and streamlined. The game is ready, just make it bigger and better looking, use the base you have and create the scenes again. Can't be that hard if you have an AAA team and almost unlimited resources and time.

Once you figure out the move set, the last boss is one of the easiest bosses in the game. It's a long fight, but it's quite predictable.
Have you really practiced that hard, though? Because you can just hold L1 button while being locked to an enemy, and that's all the parrying you need most of the time. It's actually eventually much less about skill, and much more about being cool headed. I mean my wife beat first few bosses quite easily, and this is the third game where she is moving the camera with a controller's left stick (Zelda BOTW and MH:World were the first two.)
Sekiro is the most stream...
Who are you people!? ;) Games used to be much harder in the 80s and 90s! Millions of young people participate in eSports and play like normal people played every game in the 80s. I guess there are casuals here and there, and being a casual gamer is not a bad or good thing, just a different kind of gamer. Respect to that! :)
Killing over hundred human beings and animals without a real reason or choice not to do so. Linear story and mission structure. Stiff movement and unreasonably violent gameplay. I'm going to finish it, though, cause I bought it almost full price. It has nice graphics and music, though (yay!)
I feel you! Everything should be played most on a big tv with really good quality (not quantity) sound!
When I'm traveling for business, which is quite often nowadays, I have no time to play anything. Working all the way from taking a cab to airport, waiting for boarding, on plane, again taxi, and then client meeting, and when I eventually get to the hotel room, I have no energy to do anything but take a shower and call my wife. Maybe eat something quickly. Playing a g...
I dunno, I just started Breath of Fire IV today, and it’s from Kingdom hearts era. Superb writing and direction, much better than most WRPGs to date.

It would be actually strange if the new consoles would be obsolete soon after release. I mean, we are getting a much better CPU performance this time around and more cores to handle physics and AI behavior, but also higher frame rates. CPUs and GPUs won’t have huge leaps in terms of ”tock” upgrades after 2019/2020 due to chip shrinking ultimately being limited after 7nm and it won’t be easy physics-wise to go smaller. I mean sure there is still room for mid-ge...
Love this guy! He is famous in Japan and actually good with a katana as well!
That's a pretty deep connection Eurogamer writer has with a game. Does he speak to Tropico about philosophy and his relationship problems as well?
The title should read "New Story of Seasons game announced, BUT it's for mobile."
Yeah, exactly. In Japan game music is widely used in documentaries, in the so called ”variety” shows, travel shows etc. They just use licenses they buy from song rights holders. Nothing ripoff about it.
We use it now and I know a lot of my friends who are parents use it. When they give their kids a game from 90s or even 80s, these kids just play them if they are fun. Kids don't care about graphics, and besides, 2D never gets old. Even my wife prefers many of the older games from the 90s over the latest ones due to better writing and more interesting themes, but also more varied and fun gameplay. Sure some of the quality of life improvements aren't there, but it's funny how fast y...
I actually liked Killzone Shadow Fall. I thought it was GG’s best Killzone game yet. It had problems, but overall the experience was good. KZ2 was ok, but too gray and repetitive.
