To me content is the key in RPGs, but I can't look past the lower end 3D graphics after playing it on PS4 Pro already once, completing pretty much everything except the tedious side quests (there was nothing to do in the post-game once you are done with all story elements, but the story elements then again, were great.)
Plus, while I absolutely love the 16-bit version of the overworld graphics, I really don't like the static battles. I've played the originals IV...
@Azurite
You are right, sorry! I could not edit the comment later anymore. I meant few thousand yen. Or few man yen. Choose thousands or tens of thousands (yen.)
@stefd75
Absolutely Dragon Quest XI. It's the better game. Starts actually slow, but that's great for a flight. Trust me, I've played all of the three games, and DQXI is the best of them. Witcher is OK, Ni No Kuni is OK, but DQXI is great.
And I've played all Witchers, all Ni No Kuni games, and all Dragon Quest games except for 10. My wife also has the same opinion, so that is pretty much the truth of how things are in the world as is.
I'd get Dragon Quest XI, but if you can, also buy Ni No Kuni. I just liked DQ overall much better for it's better story, length, customization, and overall vibe. I loved the music in XI, but it takes time to get used to.
Games like Gears and Uncharted are difficult to have a good story for. You'd have to really start tackling all sorts of stuff if you go deep, and that is why I think Uncharted's story is absolute crap. A trigger happy psycho and co kills hundreds if not thousands of people and in the end lives off a balanced happy life on a paradise island as a united family. The way the story bounced between archaeological discovery (my favourite bits) and suddenly going back to killing killing and k...
Well, get a Japanese credit card then? We use ours when we buy from PSN Japan. Or you can buy gift cards with a really cheap conversion rate if you know where to look. This is the site I've been using mostly: https://www.seagm.com/plays...
Or have a friend in Japan buy these for you. My friend sometimes goes to Kombini and just buys worth a few thousand man yen for me when I'...
Ohh that would be surprising, because I come from the parts of the world where LGBTQ+++ (whatever the term nowadays is, I don't even think about it, humans are just humans) human beings have normal human rights and are part of a normal society, and nobody needs to think about these things everyday too much.
I actually would love Naughty Dog to make a statement for equal human rights for all types of people in the world with the game. It would be controversial due to the...
I kind of think someone / something will kill the girl Ellie likes and she starts her revenge which will be focused on these people / things. Joel trying to stop her or calm her down without succeeding. I'm intrigued to see how the infected, the whole cure thing and all the new gangs become part of the story.
I made a decision that I will not buy any single new game until I finish at least 7 games from my backlog of 15 (or play each more than 50 hours and be done with them if they take longer and are mundane.) There will always be a new Black Friday, spring or summer sale or whatever around the corner...
It was a thorough interview with Game Informer. Read the article.
Certainly didn't feel like 10fps then! But now, it's a bit hard to go back to. With the original hardware and a CRT TV it might still be pretty engaging, though.
Looks exactly what I hoped it would look like! Better boss and enemy design, better animations, better graphics, more loot, new gameplay mechanics and similar sized story focused on Japanese historical characters in a fantastical setting. This will be a time sink and a solid 8.5 - 9.0 / 10 game.
I thought it was an absolute masterpiece in storytelling and combat etc. You haven't experienced the whole game. Try again from the beginning and play it through until you get extremely long credits (you know when you do) and state your opinion again. I understand, though, if that sounds a bit of daunting task :)
Even with the lowest wage it's just a few hours works worth you are paying for something that took years and years of planning, careful design, communications to fans, business logic creation, funding gathering, attention to detail and execution, and even then the whole thing is a miracle as is. And now you want to withdraw your support because of a few dollars? What is this "other means" you are talking about, not stealing the game, is it?
And you don't r...
Correction: English voice acting isn't always a plus. Japanese voice acting is 80% of the time extremely good in Japanese made A, AA or AAA games. The Japanese voices in the Japanese FFVIIR trailer were actually pretty good and full of some of the most famous actors / actresses in the business there. Often times Spanish, French and Portuguese ones are pretty good as well.
For all non-Japanese speakers, some translations I still remember from the stream:
Kojima said that he will show how to mess around with Norman in the rest area more tomorrow. The Japanese voice cast will be present as well. Today was the main event, tomorrow is some more extra explanation coming in about the systems. He also said it's playable without a time-limit at the Sony booths.
Also the biggest theme in the game was connecting with people, and ...
Death Stranding 49min gameplay video with Kojima explaining it was awesome! Wasn't too interested in the game before, but the gameplay won me over.
Zero.
I play offline games I buy. Must-have titles (1-2 per year) made by developers I want to support on release, rest on sale 50% or more.
Must-have movies can be watches in theaters and all of the tv series can be watched once a year with free months (just need to have around 4 credit cards in a family and buy stuff that has free subs included or use them for free months, those credit cards cost nothing if you use your points for annual payments and ne...
@veicht The developers knew, but Japanese people always laugh when I tell them Ryu Ga Gotoku series is called Yakuza, and wonder why, because it's a story about so much more.
I'm very much on board with this more mature (plus the crazy humor) type of a Dragon Quest inspired Persona 5 Tokyo Dweller experience now that it is a turn-based RPG. However, I'm not entirely sure about Ichi's background. Maybe a bit more smart and normal type of a person in the Japan...
