What? No, that wasn't the lesson at all.

OK I'll give you a strong hint: Look at your own comment history, and see how many of them are remotely interesting. And if you are planning to count them up on your fingers, feel free to wear mittens.

No. In fact you could argue that my comment was completely pointless.

There is a lesson to be learned here, but I'm not going to spell it out.

Hard to say as when I play VR games I typically keep my eyes closed

Here we go again. Most likely "everyone talking about motion sickness is just weak and not fit to play the game or share their opinion."

Abriael's plight should serve as a cautionary tale to every gaming journo that considers running a paid PR campaign for a game, as he's wound up looking a complete tosspot.

Particularly good news for open world games where the Pro might need to stream in higher resolution textures than the base model. Hopefully the drive that ships in the Pro isn't another 5400RPM slowpoke though, as if it is then devs will need to cater for that and the benefits of SATA3 will be limited to load times.

I'm enjoying Shenmue

I agree with iamtylerdurden, people shouldn't expect games on PSVR to be any good as the tech isn't really good enough for VR.

Oh lord. I was really hoping DC VR would score highly across the board, if only to spare us from the inevitable Dualshockers campaign.

Mmm yes I'm sure the majority of people investing in high-end PCs are children with no responsibilities.

You're right that there are many valid reasons to enjoy console gaming, just as there are many valid (and often over-lapping) reasons to like PC gaming. Should have stopped there.

Not sure I follow your point? Of course it is the article's (writer's) fault, and no I haven't taken it personally. I called out how weak the article was, that's all. Just like you called out my comment, yet I wouldn't say you took that personally.

3388d ago 1 agree4 disagreeView comment

Sure, when appropriate. I'm also a fan of staying on topic.

The headline says quite assertively that I will want the PSVR over and above the other VR headsets. The article says that the reason I want it is that it has the games, then completely fails to back that point up.

To be clear, I think PSVR and VR in general looks great. I'm bursting at the seams to get hold of it. What I personally want is the best VR that I can buy, and this article just...

Ty Shark. From what I gather, Vive has been worth the extra for roomscale and touch controllers up to this point. But there seems to by a loose consensus that Rift has the better display, and touch will level things in terms of interactivity.

The real potential of the PSVR display is still kinda shrouded, I'm very interested to hear how that stacks up when it has a PS4 Pro running it as well.

Have you tried a Rift or PSVR yourself for a direct compar...

Probably the PSVR game I'm most interested in so far. I'm hoping there is something to the Rocket League vibe it gives off.

3388d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

I'm the opposite. Multiplayer looks great, you can keep the emotional mech journey on indefinite hold.

3388d ago 2 agree6 disagreeView comment

That's just not true. Rift and Vive have more games, even before you factor in mods and 3rd party tools to get old games working in VR. Just go onto the steam store and browse the VR catalogue, there are almost 750 items in there.

It's the quality over quantity argument, as the vast majority of games are tech demos and/or trash. Right now PC has things like Elite Dangerous, Project Cars, Dirt Rally, Minecraft as the "big games", with a lot of smaller expe...

Why Vive over Rift?

I've been researching a lot lately, and for my mind right now Rift is in the lead. I think I'm just waiting on a few more details on Oculus Touch and on PS4 Pro+VR to inform a final decision, but Rift is looking like the one I'll go for at the moment.

Meh, it just wasn't a well written headline. The article basically says the other headsets are better, but tops it off with a fan-appeasing headline.

I actually read it to see what exactly set PSVR above the other headsets as I'm really on the fence between them, but the batman game really isn't going to push me one way or the other.

3388d ago 0 agree24 disagreeView comment

It is the VR I actually want because I can play batman for an hour?

I'm not a fan of headlines telling me what I think or want.

3388d ago 1 agree42 disagreeView comment

Loads. VR is exciting now, but it's definitely going to get better.

Wireless is the big one everyone is racing for at the moment, but res/graphics/field of view/headset size are obvious things to work on and hopefully we'll get some real fancy ideas on input mechanisms that can really provide feedback in more sophisticated ways (ie improvements Vive's haptic pads so that it can really "trick" the hand into feeling textures). There is also tonnes of pot...
