PC VR isn't short on racing games...
Don't suppose you feel like expanding on that? From what I gather there is not much to choose between them, but Rift edges both display and control?
For me I'm leaning towards Rift, but I'd like to see how well supported the Rift roomscale mode is on Steam. I don't see it getting good support directly, but if it is supported well in games made for primarily for Vive then that's fine and Oculus will top almost every measure of VR quality.
I'm outraged. If you can't replace all the dragons for Thomas the Tank Engine models then you might as well not bother with mods at all.
I'm not seeing the games yet. At least not enough to declare a clear winner over the rival headsets. Driveclub, maybe Resident Evil 7 are the exclusive standouts so far imo (giving Capcom the benefit of the doubt). I'd probably play Batman too. Maybe Rigs.
It's likely that Sony will put out some good games in the next year or so, but I wouldn't say Facebook or Valve host weak platforms either.
Still one clear winner on price though...
Why do you think Vive over Rift? Most feedbackI've seen from forums and such suggests Rift will be the better headset once the Touch controllers release, but I'm very much open to as many opinions as I can get.
Wish these reviews were able to test on the pro as well, so we could really get a fair indication of just how capable the display is.
For you maybe. I've been waiting on VR for almost 30 years!
It looks like visually the PSVR can more-or-less hold it's own with pros and cons against the PC rivals (and likely even more so with a Pro). That's an astonishing achievement from Sony.
However, I've been reading into many, many Vive vs Rift comparisons, most people seem to give the win to the Vive not because the quality of the headset or display, but because the roomscale functions transorm the experience. Maybe with a couple of extra peripherals Sony will b...
I was undecided on which VR headset to invest in. Until now.
Ah I feckin hate HDMI lately. Yet more overly complex cable setup required just to avoid the constraints and quirks of HDMI if I want the best of PS4 Pro and PSVR.
PR speak totally works. Just look at N4G to see how many people hang on every word the PR machines put out.
That's not to say I disagree with your letter. It'd be great if devs took note of this stuff. I just don't think gaming is so distant from every other industry as far as money goes. As I said on the 1st part, I think Activision stand as proof positive that suits can forge a fine and lucrative career in the industry. To the detriment of all of us.
Nah there are some quirks in the engine that make 60fps extremely difficult to attain. I can get 4k30 2xMSAA with pretty high settings on this, but I can't get 1080p60 on low.
Lock it at 30 until the issue is resolved. I know that sounds gross to a PC gamer, but it is still an immensely enjoyable game.
I think I want a VR headset this year, but I'm very torn on which to go for.
Vive has the controls and roomscale that apparently do make it the premier experience right now.
Rift apparently has the better quality display (in terms of screen door) and has controls and roomscale coming, plus confirmation that it'll work with scorpio
PSVR has the price and apparently a good display, it'll have consistency in performance targets and it has probably...
I honestly prefer the look of the original. Bright white is a stupid choice of colour. The S stands out like a sore thumb in my entertainment center, the big-ass original with it's auto-dimming light was completely anonymous.
Hopefully a matte black version isn't far off...
What is native resolution? How do you define 'native resolution''? If you're talking about what you can see, what you can smell, how many pixels you can count, then 'native resolution' is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.
Oh save us, it's Shadow Fall all over again.
"We don't upscale. We just take a lower resolution image and scale it up."
Works OK for this though. The character isn't supposed to be human, so it should sit in uncanny valley.
That makes it perfect subject matter for a David Cage 'game'.
Oh man the DDOS was awful. At one stage I moused over my gloves and the tooltip said "retrieving item information". In red. RED.
Thanks for ruining Christmas guys >:(
I installed Gears UE on the PC the other day just to see how it is now that the dust and patching have settled, and I wasn't overly impressed by the visuals or performance. Hopefully Gears 4 is a significant step up.
Sadface at the PC gamers making themselves look silly.
-No, HDR in Half life 2 is not the same thing at all.
-Yes, you can hook a PC up to a HDR TV and get a GPU that supports HDR. But there are practically no games that actually support it. Not even Gears 4 or Forza Horizon 3, which support it on XBox.
Having said that, this website claiming that HDR trumps the native resolution, AA, textures, framerates, shadowing, lighting, ambient oclusion, p...
