Crossing my fingers that Microsoft (or anyone else) go for a proper premium enthusiast product, and that wouldn't come cheap.

Triple digit framerates are very appealing for a game like Doom. Hitting good framerates at 4k is also very appealing. Doom is definitely a good "show horse" for Vulkan right now. The only other example I know of is DOTA2, which is more of a donkey than a horse.
Hopefully Battlefield 1 will let us directly compare Dx11, Dx12, and Vulkan.

The prediction was supposedly from Netflix. They don't care about 4k gaming, they care about the h.265 codec that their streaming service uses. I don't see why future SKUs couldn't have that added to enable 4k video streaming services.
The first 360s didn't have HDMI ports (miraculously I still have one of those that works).
I knew they would have a sound strategy to stop people trading this game in after completing the campaign.
