Current Vive owners are by-and-large tech enthusiasts with disposable income. I expect most will be pleased at the opportunity to get something better...
I was planning to get a Rift this month though, but now I kinda have to wait until CES. I hope whatever they announce is worth the delay and doesn't cost me a good black Friday deal :-(
@simple i'd argue you're not trying hard enough.
Lol ok fair play to you. I'm still not giving you any money.
I shall not be donating to your cause, because you are a liar. There is no way you enjoyed every second of exploring as young Nate!
Really? It seems to be more of a question than ever. Especially in cases where it is literally a choice presented to the user.
Steam login servers have been targetted plenty of times before. People are more lenient towards them because they don't charge the monthly fee...
Every COD game releases to positive critical reception. And every one of them (since the Infinity Ward fallout) has been bad.
It's quite restrictive, but that's not the same as a closed standard. If they stopped the distribution of 32bit executables and blocked out Steam and other competing platforms then it'd be a closed platform, but as it stands it is just an option.
@MKIS007 right, cos everyone that likes good quality picture and sound also has unlimited money to piss away. Good one.
Windows Store is a distribution platform. The UWP apps you associate with it are open for any dev and distributor to create and sell, that tech is not closed or locked in any way. Major PC game devs just haven't chosen to use it (yet).
No they have settings that let you control whether they automatically install updates or not. As does Windows.
It isn't really an apples to apples comparison, but actually the other 3 force you to stay offline if you don't update so I guess Microsoft are the most flexible in that regard.
"I bought a PSVR but haven't been able to try it because I sold my ps4."
Whups.
That's a bit of an odd criteria to base your decision on since Valve, Sony, and Oculus all force you to keep their respective platforms up-to-date as well.
It is a bit odd that the story image is the Xbox logo, when the article doesn't mention the xbox at all.
Their engine will live on through Amazon.
Crytek have had some amazing talent in-house, but I think they bled a lot of it out during the first bout of financial trouble. They haven't really done much since to be judged on, so it's hard to know for sure. The Climb is supposed to be a good looking game as VR goes though.
Good news must not be important again since all we hear is whining non stop.
But not quite up to the lofty standards of Power Rangers Samarai Force Season 2 Episode 4.
Which is to say, wtf does Quantum Break have to do with Infamous screenshots? :|
HDR... Plasma?
If it helps you feel better HDR will almost certainly be better on 2017 models, when hopefully manufacturors conqueur the brightness levels of HDR10.
Wait til you see how often TVs release. You'll be disgusted.
