I'm going for a Rift, but expect to get most of my software from Steam. If Valve played for a closed system I'd have no confidence in either PC option, and I'd probably get PSVR.

Microsoft don't figure into the decision at all right now, because right now is when I want VR and they have nothing... i hope their Windows VR stuff is fully inclusive of both Vive and Rift when it does arrive though.

It probably includes the same Facebook games and trash like that that make up the smartphone category.

That feeling right there. Capture it and savour it. That's how the PC elite feel about console players.

There is always a bigger fish...

The smack talk at PSVR is low, and Microsoft are generally starting to show catty claws now that they have some semblence of a platform to attack from. I'm not saying that's cool.

I'm just saying I don't really want them to release "Xbox VR" right now for the sake of going head-to-head with Sony. It's better for MS and for Xbox gamers that they wait until they can deliver something worthwhile.

I doubt there are any dev studios out there that would be offended by what he just said. They all openly acknowledge that they are learning what does and doesn't work in VR. It's still new.

Which is probably about the right time, no?

Console gamers expect a certain level of quality in their experiences. If Microsoft aren't ready or able to deliver that then they're better of waiting until they are.

How so?

Note the question marks. I'm asking because I don't have the full transcript of the interview so I don't have context.

Taken at face value, the left hand is saying "4K requires 8TFlops" while the right hand is saying "we've made a console for 4k, with 4.2tflops!". Seems reasonable to question both hands on that...

Mark Cerny, lead architect for the PS4 Pro, confirms he doesn't think it is even close to being 4k capable? Is this mistranslated or something, or is it a dig at Microsoft and Scorpio gone horribly wrong?

Maybe it's just a frank and honest answer to a question from a technical mind rather than a PR mouthpiece. Bravo if so!

Fair enough, i do acknowledge a lot of people like the campaign. Personally i loved the first Titanfall, and only wanted Titanfall 2 to build on it.

The gameplay is still pretty much spot on. However, it feels like there are about 3 maps and as far as I can tell I can't even see my accuracy stats. Things that you just expect a competitive game to have aren't there, and I would rather have had more multiplayer to chew on instead of a campaign.

I mu...

I think it might still be available in January, if you shop around ;)

The multiplayer is light on content and features. The raw gameplay is great, but where are the stats, podiums, play of the games, eSports features, or similar things you expect from a modern competitive FPS? They spread themselves too thin by adding the campaign, so the real meat of the game is a bit lean.

I know the campaign has been well received in some quarters, but personally I think they should have focused on making Titanfall 2 the best multiplayer shooter it could ...

Is this supposed to be some philosophical "what is the sound of one hand clapping, if a tree falls in the woods" type question?

Deep.

Your last paragraph... The 2 games are actually vastly different in pace, strategy, and feel.

It's Titanfall vs COD that should be held against each other, and Titanfall is the one everybody should choose (but sadly COD will smash it)

May be a long wait, as the EA partner publishing this is a bit weird. Titanfall 2 didn't get the usual 10% discount or early access.

Same thing happened with the first Titanfall and that did eventually make it to the vault, but you won't see 2 in there too soon...

Some of those are likely NAT issues on your end. Cross-platform parties and chat seem ok to me.

Installing on different drives can be a pain where the game doesn't prompt, but newer games mostly do let you pick the drive.

Multi-monitor as a replacement for split screen is a nice idea, but more down to the individual game than the store (and you can understand why they don't bother).

Imo they're improving features at a good r...

If you think Amazon and Netflix are fine for watching movies then you really have no business talking about resolution differences of games. Your eyesight sucks.

But you just... nevermind.

I won't leave any comment either.

You've chowed down on too much PR. Blu-ray was and is pretty bad for games. It is a good way to distribute a lot of data, but read speeds are too slow to game off of (hence mandatory partial installs on the PS3, and full installs on the Xbox One and PS4).

Sony used their 140million-strong Playstation fanbase to win a format war. It worked, but it's likely the console landscape would look very different right now if the PS3 launched earlier and cheaper, without the b...
