We'll know later in the day what these modes really mean in the game, though I'd wish for these:
30fps RT Mode (40fps for 120hz TVs like someone else suggests)
60fps RT Mode with lower res
60fps Standard Mode
120fps Performance Mode with whatever res drop is needed.

IGN's callout section on the bugs makes it sound so bad, more unstable than even Cyberpunk 2077 (the PC version though).
I'm sure eventually it'll be fixed, but some of the other things about story you're stuck with, with badass gameplay at least. This sounds like a wait-until-discounts-and-patch es situation.

Indeed. After the Halo creator bought themselves back from MS, only to go right into a contract with Activision that would still have been active at the time of MS's intent on purchasing them, if not for that relationship also souring so badly.
PS5 owners really are getting the shortest end of the stick here. $70 so you can feel the player run toward the base with each step, while you're playing against someone streaming the game from their phone for as little as a buck on their competitor's service. Weird weird world
After how 2021 turned out I think this question is still way too early. Horizon and Ragnarok were both originally '21 titles. Starfield in November seems unrealistic. Three of the most raved titles of last year weren't announced until E3 - Guardians of the Galaxy, Metroid Dread, and Forza Horizon 5.
If we get all Ragnarok, Horizon, GT7, and Factions 2... and TLOU 1 Remake, and TLOU2 native, and PSVR2, that's unbeatable. A Sunset Overdrive port would be a great q...
As a publishing group, they released Flight Sim on Xbox, Psychonauts 2 cross-platform, Forza and Halo, and Age of Empires 4 on PC. If we include Deathloop, that makes that makes three titles to win GOTY awards and at least 4 that got nominated across many outlets.

As of 2019, Uncharted 4 alone sold roughly 19 million units. If the Naughty Dog devs ever don't sleep soundly, it's because of crunch, not because they're strapped for cash.

I'm at about 3/4ths of the way through now and it's been a really great time. The gameplay has a very solid foundation and the team dynamic has been so well integrated, it's my most pleasant surprise from 2021.
If a sequel ever comes, I'd hope for side missions and contracts for them to do. This game's story has Galaxy-transforming impact, but we're taken through it on a (very well-told/acted/paced) linear path

Apparently it was said by the director in a Japanese interview that there are no plans at launch for a 120hz mode. That would be so exciting to play if they end up building it in later.
It's been since PS2 since I've got a GT, sim racers aren't a preference of mine. Haven't even bought a Forza Motorsport. But I really want to feel this on DualSense. The thought of a future VR mode too... goodness
Uncharted is amongst countless PS4 Pro & PS5 titles that have 1440p rendering modes. It's a pointless argument - just like it's common sense for MS to turn off HDMI audio when external output is detected, it's equally common sense for Sony to natively support a resolution so widely adopted by even their own top-tier developers.
Maybe we'll get it with VRR, maybe we won't ever. There are 1440p gaming monitors that can't accept a 4K signal and only...

The 4K Mode is a solid 30, such a solid 30 DF suggests they could have headroom to do a 40fps mode like Ratchet did.
That's how I played through R&C on my 120hz TV. That 33% boost over 30 was the best sweet point between fidelity and the smoothness I wanted from a game like that.

I do front-end dev work (definitely not games). it's unfortunately built into me from the times QA tells me I'm a few pixels off of some mock-up that we aren't told even the font size for lol.

Somehow I wasn't excited back when HZD launched. Maybe it was the Switch coming out so close to it, but I finally got it when it was $10 at Best Buy for a holiday sale/steal, Complete Edition.
Best $10 I've ever spent on a game, worth sooo much more and Frozen Wilds has seriously got to be like the best modern expansion to any game. Full on hype mode for this now, I might actually bite the $10-markup bullet and get the PS5 disc Day One.
