Sharing the love on this one. Death Stranding was very special and became one of my favorite games of last gen. I didn't expect to be so captivated by it from beginning to end.
"PlayStation Network generates over a $14 billion in digital sales, they could at least pass on the savings to us gamers"
But they just can't afford a game catalog service *and* AAA development costs. To quote Ryan, any chance of $13 billion again will just "deteriorate the first-party title quality".
Sony really hates the players, demonstrated by an onslaught of anti-consumer moves - from PS+ Cloud Save restrictions, enforced DualSense on-console (despite input flexibility on Remote Play), no DLC Support for PS3 PS+ titles, upgrade fees on not just cross-gen titles but also now on their new PS+ service, to things like this.
Only Nintendo out-snubs Sony on treatment of their players.
After listening to some podcasts, the consensus seems to be that this is a sequel of the reboot, not a reboot to the sequel of the original 2007 MW.
The very-very least would be to let these titles be included in advanced PS Plus tiers
As much as I like Xbox, you can't deny these delays do hurt. Just two weeks ago Xbox executives were still hammering us on the 11-11-22 release date.
This has nothing to do with Sony, but since the first comments are focused squarely on them... there are actual titles released this year. "But Horizon was supposed to be 2021" doesn't matter. They didn't plant their feet and insist countless times *this* day of *this* month.
Let's ...
How many times can one get away with saying the F word and other vulgarities to their employer or contractor and *not* face consequences?
The players that agree to the HCS terms aren't exactly high school teenagers going through puberty and 343 aren't lenient parents.
Their pachinko devs downloaded UE5 off the Epic Games Store and found grey walls on the Quixel Megascans library.
That's the kind of expectation I have from them.
I rewatched the first demo yesterday again, the one with Batgirl and Robin. I didn't realize just how many frame drops that one had, back in its summer 2020 form - no wonder last-gen got dropped.
But the actual gameplay there looked tighter. Batgirl moved more deliberately, Mr. Freeze was wreaking havoc on the city, an ice storm brewing. It looked fun like it actually did extend from Arkham's foundation.
Yesterday's clip had a floaty Nightwing...
A browser-based streaming solution makes sense (it would follow what every other streaming service is already doing - GeForce and Stadia are on browser along with Xbox) - and they do have touch controls already in the form of the on-screen controller in the Remote Play app.
It would be cool though for devs to have control of that layout. I like how Xbox has it laid out in games like the 2.5D Yookah Laylee and Tunic.
The Switch is a system that'll stop selling when Nintendo says it's done. The OLED is more expensive because the Switch demographic allowed it to be so, by continuing to buy base hardware for 5 years now without a global price drop.
If sales fall notably for any reason outside of stock constraints, they've got several options to choose from without resorting to new hardware. Finally a price drop. Quick redoes (Zelda WW and TP HD, the forever-rumored MP Trilogy R...
If you remember too, there are still disc-only BC games like Brute Force that aren't BC on One or Series but are/were on the 360, for a reason that seems little more than them just not wanting to sell it.
Unfortunately going that far back there's little accountability - Sony and Nintendo sell the most, and both lock their legacy games behind subscriptions only.
To date, Sony has not uttered a peep about letting us use discs on those hundreds of PS...
Lol, that XP removal was referenced in the demo as "you can customize your UI. This is how l like mine!"... then he doesn't explain anything that you can actually customize for the UI.
This almost feels like an unintentional joke. Here's another - you don't see the button icons because the demo's actually based on the Xbox 360 build.
Heavy and stiff while also looking floaty and janky. It's a weird visual that seems much less polished than the first demo videos.
Nightwing weirdly can spin 15' between enemies. Red Hood has magic jumping that just doesn't make sense in this universe, even considering characters like Ivy and Mr. Freeze. The enemies after the poorly animated van gets knocked over look lit differently than the environment they're in.
How does a game get its...
Simply put - Microsoft needs to improve this. Sony got called out for their battery-clock issue, they worked to resolve it. MS needs to do the same if not more considering their very public statements on the importance on game preservation - Phil Spencer especially calling for a standard on retro emulation/playback.
If you have a disc - plain and simple to insert it and have the system recognize that version and let you play it *while* Smart Delivery does its work. If your ...
id making a game as an ODST Helljumper would be badass. Ripping those little grunts and confetti popping out
The studio - I wouldn't
Management - absolutely
But then again when the studio has cycling contractors... what actually is the studio? They gave us the best feeling Halo with the weakest content, updates, and community support. They only get one thing right each time around and there isn't accountability
FH4 sales numbers haven't been confirmed before (only player count) and FH4 was also day-and-date on game pass. What point are you exactly trying to prove with your link from... one week after FH5's release that confirms it's both the best selling and most played out the gate?
Double Fine was a third-party developer that has released dozens of games across all major platforms over the last 17 years. Their best-selling title is one available on 2/3rds of its rele...
You're not part of any problem. Deals were made between businesses; you the consumer made the best option for yourself and Outriders failed to stand out - you can't be a problem regarding a game you and many found not worth a purchase.
Another important note that people are forgetting to mention is that Outriders has this certain publisher - Square-Enix - that couldn't for the life of them perceive any western title as a success, nor any of their GaaS titles ou...
Flight Sim isn't available to stream from the console? I thought it became available on Cloud a couple months ago so I looked at the web app on my iPhone just now and there it indeed was.
Edit: "Microsoft Flight Simulator: Standard Game of the Year Edition", in case you're looking for just "Flight Simulator"
