They lost just under half the subscribers they initially projected and project to gain the million subscribers they lost this quarter in the next.
At 220 million subscribers, that million is less than one half of one percent of their subscriber base, and they were still able to exceed the revenue that they earned this quarter last year. Disney+ meanwhile, has 130m subscribers.
It's a hassle because there isn't official support behind nearly if not all of the major emulators. Then when you do get official emulation, their official titles get locked behind subscriptions (NSO, PS+), are inferior to free alternatives on PC (NSO N64), make weird choices (PS+ filtering/scaling options and 50hz ghosting), and aren't themselves available on PC. Imagine how much could change in emulation if MS put their words to action and released their OG/360 Emulators on Wind...
Monday will be the anniversary of my preorder. Glad that people here are getting theirs (and that's seeming to be pretty recent).
What've you all been playing on yours?
The GameCube dropped to $100 within two years of its release, in 2003. Switch has sold practically 5x the GC and has yet to see a single official price drop in the US nearly five and a half years later.
Nope. Sony just made $720 between you, me, and Hellcat alone. We voted with our wallets and discless won this battle
Me too!

Not sure who could disagree with that - 4K60fps at native resolution is nearly 500 million individual pixels getting rendered every second. That takes an enormous amount of power, especially combined with modern rendering techniques and no temporal upsampling
Can't wait for that announcement article to complain about Sony only to preorder the most expensive version *Standards leaves the chat*
Considering Asobo's ties with MS I wonder if the cloud version will be running off Azure, or if MS has some secret fork of xCloud for clients like Google's transforming Stadia into
What's with the cynicism? An employee of nearly 18 months got promoted, that's not indication of a reset especially when they're promoting from within the existing team.
We've got 4K30 and Dynamic4K60 mentioned, oh-please let there be the new PS Gold-Standard 40hz and unlocked VRR modes
I was listening to a podcast where they mentioned a quote similar to this and the hosts pointed out one game you skipped out on - Pokemon. Turn-based, essentially unchanged for two decades in its fundamentals, and it's appreciated by the younger generation while not declining in sales/relevance.
I like what I've seen on the FFXVI trailers but this + no-difficulty-modes makes me agree - the core roots could be gone and we're left with a game that feels designed-b...
You're quite the bitter person, upsetting yourself oh so much about the one gay article posted this week (and the earlier times you've ranted against gay articles, which requires you to go out of your way to type line-after-line). It didn't work last time, nor the time before, and there will be articles in the future covering the gays.
If you think I'm getting worked up over this, lol.
'Disconnected' comes from this line - "PlayStation Stars will be free to join when it launches later this year". Free to join. Meaning it's something where the onus is on the player to join in... meaning not automatic, like I say.
The headline of the first article, for reference:
"PS Plus Extra, Premium PS5, PS4 Games for July 2022 Revealed"
Encouraging censorship over this, really? This is an opinion piece, that was covering the announcement.
Reward systems are always great to have. Gotta say though, that we have to sign up in the first place is odd and makes this come off as disconnected. My Nintendo and Microsoft Rewards are just kinda there and automatically associated with your account because it's a part of the account.
Microsoft Rewards gives you discounts on top of points when you redeem them. Sony as of late is more likely to charge you the difference of what you're saving lol
Gaming, for gamers that think games are made by magic and not... actual living people.
Gaming news deals also means gaming *business* news. Deal with it, or exhaust yourself less by... not commenting on things with gaming companies that don't have to do with gaming
It was back when I fell out of gaming for a couple years (Bloodborne another casualty). Had a lot of fun with it but in that time I didn't finish much of anything, from 2014-17/18.
Disagreeing with raw numbers isn't going to speed up any false belief that Netflix is in jeopardy
