Pop-in in a title like this is especially bad (imo) because it takes away from Sonic's speed and turns our attention toward the speed of the hardware it's running on.

I'm also absolutely not a fan of how reflective things are. Since they use SSR and not ray tracing, and there are a lot of turns/spirals, there are more noticeable breaks in the immersion there. At the end of the video, when he's bumping those stupid objects to make them float, even the transpa...

For today being the US launch date, it's almost as if Sony themselves forgot the date *and* the vast majority of these "700+ titles"

They've got more Series units sold in Japan already that Ones; there's certainly more of an audience there now. Personally, P5R isn't a game I would buy because it's not my favorite genre, but plop it in Game Pass - I don't have an excuse to not at least give it an honest shot after reading all the fan raving over the years

What's the point when another E3/summer-time will come before any of those are close to release? Save for Goldeneye which is so confusing license-wise we just won't know till it drops

I downloaded it but haven't opened the app, so yeah this is an odd metric to go by.

Totally believe the number - it's just meaningless when they say installs not players or accounts.

That sucks they made it US only - I didn't know that. It makes even less sense especially with the edition only being distributed on their own storefront.

Microsoft can't second-class their own titles by releasing certain titles Day One and others full-price only. By the time Diablo 4 comes out Activision will be merged into Xbox.

If they suddenly start to they'll destroy the value proposition of Game Pass. It's not like they can maintain any goodwill with so few titles releasing as it is and then doing something like that.

This was a very good interview - PR stepped in a few times but overall, I wasn't expecting them to go into details like using brightness/shadow/water settings as gameplay advantages and the other more-technical questions.

Games, like movies, and everything with hype-and-release, make a large proportion of their overall units at release when our time reference is... a narrow window after release. Shocker.

Especially when the game released in the midst of lockdown when the vast majority of the civilized world was locked indoors, despite a huge onslaught of hate-driven misinformation, lies about playable characters, spoilers and sharp reactions with zero context applied.

Sony's approach to PC has been very confusing to me.
Days Gone, HZD, and God of War - they get such nice visual enhancements over the PS4 Pro versions, but PS5 players don't see those benefits; we got 60fps modes of the PS4 Pro output.

Returnal and Sackboy have settings UIs leak, but we get a brand new announcement in TLOU Part 1 before those get addressed at all. Demon's Souls even had that announcement trailer verbiage about PC but still nothing.

Preorders are still open on PlayStation Direct. Just ordered mine. Couldn't say no when I've got the Collector's from Part 2

A lot of bitterness in here - expanding gaming is great and the value they provide is improving. For devs too now getting paid for demo performance, and the combo of TV Apps + Cloud Streaming Purchased titles means it'll be as easy/convenient to play your games in a different room in your house as it is to watch Netflix.

Huge opportunity for them could be to partner with family resorts - anyone else remember the Nintendo and PS controllers connected directly to the TVs,...

MetalFX could end up being what Apple needs from a tech standpoint, and maybe the next iteration could tap into their neural network like DLSS.

I just hope this getting implemented and voiced at WWDC means the Metal-optimized titles won't be restricted to the App Store. It would be fun to see how RE Village updated on Steam runs on my M1 MacBook Air.

I want to see what Compulsion's been up to all these years. We Happy Few was a 2018 game and it wasn't all that long. Between all the MS heavy hitters getting delays, it would be nice to see some stuff shown with smaller concepts that might be closer to release.

This article is way too long and the author only addresses the headline in one small paragraph comparing the game to Assassin's Creed (of all possible games).

Right after the description here ends, they follow that up with: "To their credit, these were all far more successful than other companies’ hamfisted attempts to bolt multiplayer onto single-player games ten years prior".

What. Fallout 76 was slammed on release, Youngblood was the leas...

The videos released so far haven't been all that good, but the preview seems to be pretty glowing. I'm very uncertain about this game and what it's trying to be.

He's listing the numbers as they are and you guys are taking issue with... the numbers? If the numbers being what they are is some kind of agenda to you, it might be a good idea to go touch grass

With most games receiving delays, good, I don't want to see more things to wait even longer for. Show me more of what actually has a chance of coming out before Summer Game Fest 2023.

20 million is quite a few million more than the amount of new Xbox's out there... so there's actually a very good chance this game's been played on the majority of the new gen systems.
