It's the difference between "eh, why not" and actual excitement about a title.
You totally could've gone after how he talks about this indie title so negatively then suggests playing other indies instead... Without an example.
Surely he doesn't mean Sable since that got similar ratings last year. Surely he can't mean that awful game where you dodge discs and cogs like a 2000s flash game. He definitely can't mean Hellsinger b...
The IGN Xbox podcast this week had their lead art designer on for a developer interview.
Ignoring anything polarizing (games this style are not long, other reviewers love the game), the art style and world seem universally praised so it makes sense now especially why he's the guy out promoting the title.
So far it's sitting at a 72 on metacritic. In comparison, Valkyrie Elysium (fun combat but average everything else) sits at a 65. The Medium 71 (75 PS5). Call of the Sea, another puzzle walking sim that is/was on Game Pass, 73-81 depending on the platform.
I'll gladly play this game. 6-8 hours, a world style never done before, level design that makes me think of what to do instead of just what to shoot.

Because it's impossible for exes to be adults, five years to a decade later. What a disgusting opinion.
Did you read the article?
Their relationship ended in 2011. Five years later he helped her get contract work, then four years later she became a full time employee in 2020. In 2020 or 2021, a decade after that relationship ended, is when he was "groping" her in the office and threatening her with decade old photos.
Good job misconstruing the entire context and timing. Yeah, he was fired, and she might be a bit opportunitistic, but don't lie ...
Just because something is fun in its moment-to-moment gameplay doesn't mean that alone can save it from mediocrity. Elysium had a great demo in my opinion, fun as heck for the hour-ish that it lasted. But from the sounds of it, literally nothing else stands out and from the demo I'd agree, especially with the middling graphics and presentation.
Below the comments are more review articles from here - 7.5, 7, 7, this one is 6.2. It's not a 2, it's not even a 5...
Microsoft spent one million less than Sony, true. But PSN granted licenses to indefinitely maintain access the game; it's only accessible to Game Pass subscribers while on the service and, for all we know, an extra discount could've been applied since MS also got the forward for Ark 2.
oof46 gets it - it is interesting seeing this difference in platforms and the value placed on the different mechanisms of non-ownership.
Also, come on Excaliburps -...

I just installed again after not playing on PC since June 2021. It loads very quickly (on a WD Black nvme), runs reasonably stable (RTX 3070) with no major hitches and no crashing.
There are some scripting issues. The jittery/glitchy HUD state when Silverhands appears sometimes sticks until a reload even after the scene ends, happened twice over the weekend to me. Another weirder one was when I had two missions going to the same character. It ...
Hair Salon Simulator, for if Decima ever gets extended to indie studios.
FTC vs Facebook, the very opening of the Case Summary from the link you provided:
"The Federal Trade Commission has sued Facebook, alleging that the company is illegally maintaining its personal social networking monopoly through a years-long course of anticompetitive conduct"
Am I missing something here? Because it seems to say pretty clearly that the FTC's case is based around Facebook being, according to the statement, a monopoly.
It's five games, not six.
Four of which are internal, one is external.
Three of which are for the new Witcher Trilogy, which will take six years and is no earlier than three years away.
So... That's, at minimum, a nine year timeline, assuming no delays. "now they want to shovel 6 more 70usd projects in your throat" Ugh you can't even be accurate in your complaining.
"Seems Sony did well by not competing with their biggest cash cows"
Well, Jim's taking that truth proudly around the globe trying to manipulate regulatory bodies to vote in favor of what benefits PlayStation.
Easier to argue you can't compete with COD when you've made zero products even close to similar.
"It means make games that sell well and make you a ton of money."
Silly me thinking...
"You're cheering for them to compete with games they were already competing against?"
Sony effectively abandoned the entire FPS genre the instant they got COD marketing rights and their single player games have nearly all adopted Ubisoft-like open-world mechanics.
One look at their portfolio, it's clear they've actively avoided making any products that directly compete with the third party cash cows that rake in the most MTX dollars....
... A few sentences is long to you?
"Fights quickly started to feel very routine, with very similar enemies in every encounter, to the point where I felt like I had to mix up my tactics – not because I was being forced to, but just to try and make things a little more interesting."
This is kind of what I dreaded to read. I felt that way in AC Odyssey and once I hit that wall, that moment of reflection of just why I'm spending my time doing that same feeling chore, where every encounter felt like...
The game has been on sale for under $10 before. Extended refund durations were provided. It's been on countless other sales. They've delayed content specifically to fix bugs and glitches and workflows and data streaming, fundamental structures of the game.
They can never unrelease the game, so the "ugh"s are just wasted comments this far from release when they've done as much as developers can do in a situation like this.
It's been nearly two years; if you still hold a grudge against CDPR it's time to stop giving them your attention and mindshare.
Flight Simulator is the one MS title that's Series exclusive. Starfield, Redfall, and possibly Forza will be the next
I really enjoyed the Elysium demo and didn't know it was out either until I just saw the IGN review.
Fun combat but they gave it a 6 because of... everything not the combat. It'll definitely be a purchase for me, eventually, but it'll need to be on sale since playing it you could feel it wasn't exactly going for AAA
The hype on N4G: Stray is the perfect game with the perfect length. Scorn is the worst for being developed over the same length of time with a similar reported game length.
Nothing about this title received hype on here without a receiving some narrative against it.
(Also what's up with your keyboard, you never hit the shift key...)
