I completely agree.

And now they can't really drop the price lower because then it's 2x the price for a Pro

$20 off launch digital MSRP, $70 off Slim Digital MSRP.

"Knushwood Butt" (nice name, very parental) is getting his home destroyed by an angsty 14 year old and is doing nothing about it? Seriously?

Maybe that's the problem. Parents care more about commenting online or complaining about parenting than *actually* doing parenting. Maybe the parents need to get off the internet before the kids do. Set the tone at the top.

4 year old hardware vs new hardware that's 40%ish faster. We know. But don't just say it's a $100 difference because it isn't when you ignore the $80 disc drive. It's $250 more than the 1TB digital Series X and PS5.

$180 less, it's got a built-in disc drive
Or $210 less, it's got a built-in stand.

The only time I'm reminded the $600 Xbox exists is by a Sony fan trying to deflect from the $700 PlayStation.

As if it's even a valid comparison, the $600 Xbox has a disc drive

What's wrong with the game's music?

GOTY contender - glad to see them still making this game even better.

$650 would've had me day one with the disc drive.
The 2TB SSD does nothing for me, I would've just transferred the 2TB one I installed in my base machine over and still be content on space with a 1TB base.

As it stands now, I'll only get the Pro on an Amazon or Costco sale that makes enough sense. There's a 0% chance of me paying full price on this. But damn do I want to play Rebirth on it...

You don't have to repurchase PS5 games to get their PS5 Pro enhancement.

And yeah it is cheaper to buy a better GPU - but that's just one piece of the puzzle. I do prefer my RTX 4070-Ryzen 5800X3D build over consoles for better visuals, but a lot of newer games run so poorly on PC that the added frames alone aren't work the added stutters, and (generally and personally speaking) the idea of playing games in the same chair I work all day in is a huge hurdle to ov...

IGN is not owned in any part by MS, where is this nonsense coming from?

"But at critical points they back the MS horse and/or undermine the Sony horse."

Their higher-up editors have been on official IGN podcasts and on their own personal social media profiles openly trolling Xbox. They've been community-noted on X even for neglecting to mention Xbox in their articles and their official social media posts.

I freaking loved Village and beat it twice back-to-back but I do agree. It was a completely different vibe than 7 but it knew what it wanted to do and did it very well. I do look forward to a more horror-like 9. First- or third-person, I think either work.

We've had upscaling in PC for many years now and that has had the perceptible effect of devs doing less optimization because they can use it as a crutch (especially with UE5 titles) to put in features that look pretty but hurt performance, and introduce additional stutters because RT effects are extremely heavy on the entire system, CPU included.

I could understand it being innovative in terms of gameplay if devs actually do something meaningful with the tech it offers,...

I remember how the time to triangle was going to be reduced so much by the PS5. That was supposed to change console gaming.
But - we're four years in now with a dearth of new first party titles and price *increases* on the PS5 in parts of the world. With a $700 mid-gen upgrade, no reduction of the base console after this long, how does Sony reintroduce a $500 base next-gen system, or even a $600 system? Forget including a disc drive as well, that'll only ever be optional if a...

Friday had more players than Thursday
Saturday had more than Friday
Sunday had more than Saturday.
And even on launch day it had more players than any previous launch in EA's single player Steam history.

Referencing Grummz for anything is lol. He got called out for posting fake-as-heck review embargo agreements over this same game he's on a crusade against. It's all he has left of relevancy in the industry is stirring BS and rage

The final mission of Burning Shores is one of the worst missions in modern gaming.

You could play it blindfolded with one hand the way Aloy and Seyka spoil any moment in it that would require you to think. It absolutely ruined what should've been the coolest mission and fight in the Horizon franchise.

Even my relatively non-gamer spouse thought GOW Ragnarok was way too chatty as well and didn't like the game as much as GOW 2018.
