The critic previews actually were good and favorable, but the people here are afraid of the color purple.

Dead Space said hi, but no one bought it...

Dragon Age also says hi, and that it's on Steam with no login either, and has no DRM, and has no mtx.

I would hope the sequel to any game would aim to be better than what came before it.

Especially when it builds on such a successful foundation.

Their developers are mandated to be working right this moment; their executives must be happy

Totally agree with both you - I was more meaning something along the lines of their knowledge & expertise in optimization and efficiency, not idTech itself.

Bethesda owns id with idTech, you'd think they'd have taken advantage of those resources for far more than just... Aiming the guns better in Starfield.

Yeah that might end up hurting the GaaS more if players take to the single player titles.

Imagine STALKER fans if they got the remastered trilogy only for 2 to become an extraction GaaS.

I'm curious to know how someone didn't break the NDA already.

I barely buy EA games. I barely buy Microsoft games. I do buy Sony games because they're consistently good. Sony is more relevant to me as a gamer. Their impact on the industry is far more significant than a greedy publisher and a platform holder that can't even find their own ass to wipe.

The login example. The last Microsoft game I bought didn't require a login - Hellblade. The last EA game I bought didn't either - Dead Space. The next one I'll buy - D...

I don't think you know what words mean but now you're venturing off topic, as you already did by doing what you always do - deflect to EA, deflect to Microsoft, deflect to anyone that did anything that Sony is currently doing that's been a negative trend in the industry.

... Do you not know what "until" means? It literally means others did it first.

"EA and other companies including Microsoft have been removing games since PS3 360"

Thanks for proving my exact point: "industry trends and where things are headed are bad, until the instant Sony does it"

I'm not surprised (and upvoted you) - It just goes to show that industry trends and where things are headed are bad, until the instant Sony does it, whether it is removing old games, requiring an additional login in single-player titles, hardware and software pricing that would make Nintendo blush, and Cloud-only hardware.

Are people really buying what Ybarra is selling?

Remember - this is the same guy that said he wishes you could leave a tip after buying a game.

Him saying now he wanted to *reduce* MTX is riiiiich, seems like he's using Schreier's book to try and save face now that he doesn't have to face his former employees.

Frame Gen might be helpful for those with 240-300hz monitors if the native limit is 144hz. And mods will certainly make the game heavier.

We'll see in a few weeks how Frostbite's shaping up in DA, and a year away still from seeing ForzaTech not in a racer.

Can't forget idTech either with Indiana Jones in Dec and Doom next year.

The first and only game made on Slipspace is Halo Infinite.

It was derived from the earlier Halo tech but it is not and was not the same.

The things you are describing as not being engine-related are 100% ENGINE RELATED! Good grief. Every single thing. The lighting. The models. The assets. The netcode. Even Redfall's lack of optimization due to Unreal's heavier bits combined with management forcing it out the door.

And guess what? Sometimes when updating an older engine to a newer form - you make mistakes and bad calls. Especially when there are rotating engineers taking their knowledge with them on t...

It only makes business sense if the remake was better. This is worse, and this news along with its poor quality only makes an Until Dawn 2 harder to justify.

If you want to kill a franchise, then sure this is a great business move to do just that.

"If you didn’t buy the PS4 version in the last 9 years odds are you weren’t going to buy it anyway."

Right on - blame the gamers, not the corps
