If this game's still in the works, I'll be excited for it - it's been too long since we've gotten a brand new DK and that concept sounds like a good test for the Switch 2

If PSSR ends up being a preview for FSR4, that makes me excited for when we'll get the generational-leap forward in AMD tech for handhelds.

$10 didn't convince me to upgrade TLOU Part 2, one of my top GOAT. Maybe some day but it's hard as heck convincing myself to replay a game 25-30+ hours long.

That goes double for HZD, I think I put in about 50 hours into that and about 100 in HFW. Not only is it quite long already but it's got an even better and longer sequel.

It does look very great and Nixxes/Guerilla should be proud of their skill in Decima. But this existing as a premium u...

The PS5 outsold the Series consoles again so this dude is making a conspiracy out of his own inability to read.

If you read through to Circana's actual data, Series consoles sold third in unit sales:

"PlayStation 5 again led the month’s hardware market in unit and dollar sales, with Xbox Series ranking 2nd in dollars and Nintendo Switch #2 in units sold."

This is not a mentally stable take of the situation at all.

Today's numbers reflect the proportion just in the US market where Circana reports. Your 25/75 split is based on Microsoft data from nearly 2 and a half years ago, April 2022.

So if that's the trend in the US, and Japan (319k S vs 307k X) is roughly 50-50 as well, then we just might be able to deduce that it is roughly 50-50 worldwide.

A market clearly exists there. It'll be interesting to see the split after the holiday period, where Series S bundles will probably be sold around $200

Wtf are you on about. IGN even scored it below the metacritic average - 85 right now.

The game ended up being a perfect example of how people do like the Ubisoft formula, really don't mind DEI elements, and couldn't care less about physical media - all in one title.

The game required an online installation because the disc wasn't the full game. Your witch/wizard was always they/them even in conversations you were a part of (not to mention the variety of NPCs). The Ubisoft formula was there in full force and lacked a lot of scripting polish (I fou...

"didn't meet square's sales expectations though"

Nothing in the world meets Square Enix's expectations.

I'll always remember Tomb Raider 2013, sold like 5m at launch across PC, PS3, and 360. near the end of the generation with around 80m each PS3 and 360 sold. Still didn't meet them, and it was even suggested that Rise wouldn't have happened without MS' huge exclusivity check.

I think it's wise ...

I do hope there's still the Venom standalone in the works. They can't not do Carnage and the wait for Spider-Man 3 will be so long they may not touch that thread again

Dead Space was great, tech issues aside.
Resident Evil 4 - incredible.
TLOU Part 1 - unneeded but gorgeous.
Demon's Souls is still one of my top games of the generation.

I don't find it worthwhile doing remasters of PS4/Xbox One era titles until someone decides it's time to update Bloodborne, but games rooted in 360/PS3 and PS2? Sure, as long as they're tastefully brought forward.

Demon's Souls anytime pls

Especially since they're updating it for PS5 Pro.

The article says this build was from April making that even worse.

The MGS Collection disc build sucks and Konami strikes again here. They're in hot competition with WB and Ubisoft

Tl;dr The disc version, without updates, has thicker eyebrows and less flattering camera angles.

Since when is a disc build referred to as a "hidden alternate version" of any game?

Why is optimization a sad thing?

The benefits to optimization pay dividends that according to their own words helped lower PC requirements. It's UE5 and we know how inefficient that engine has been this gen.

That knowledge will in turn help the eventual PS5 and PS5 Pro versions run better than if they had built this game assuming brute force will always be there.

605d ago 5 agree5 disagreeView comment

They didn't say they downgraded anything.
They're saying they optimized. And that optimization also allowed them to lower system requirements on the PC version.

605d ago 5 agree6 disagreeView comment

You're describing parts of the optimization process to say it's not optimization.

"But as the studio started optimizing and adding new features for streaming information..."

If you're serious about this Amazon list, then we all should be flippantly excited about how a VR headset is outselling every other platform

Decima's a great engine. I couldn't care less for this remaster, but I'd love to see Decima get adopted by others aside from Kojima with Death Stranding
