How does something like this even happen when they themselves delivered a totally-free Crash 4 update just a week or so ago?
FPS Boost is indeed system-level, but the approach MS takes seems to use for Fallout 4 is to take the Xbox One S version, or the One X version at 1080p resolution. Digital Foundry suggested it's the One S codepath (which ran at dynamic 1080p), so it wouldn't be technically 'dropping the resolution until 60fps' - it's dropping to a lower-tier feature set.
The mod, from what I recall, basically turns off VSync; DF's test found the framerate fluctuated ...
Gears 5 is a supreme example of technology, whether you like the game or not. The Coalition's mastered Unreal Engine.
And the Hivebusters DLC is only three months old. If they stopped supporting it would you cry that Microsoft doesn't even care about Gears anymore?
I saw on GAF or Resetera that Nier is also updated on Game Pass PC compared to the Steam version.
Too late for a game 8 weeks away?
I'm excited for this now much more than when it was first announced. Something smaller and focused seems much more fitting these days than back in 2019 when open world games were at their peak. After Days Gone, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, Spider-Man & MM, TLOU P2, and maybe even HFW later this year, and GOW2 next, this could fit nicely on the opposite end of that spectrum and totally stand out.
But if Gollum looks or feels even slightly off, that'll be bad.
Either or. Sony is at the top of their game in any genre they hit, but it feels they've abandoned first person games.
Halo MCC still gets actively updated, new maps, console KB&M and FOV sliders (for X1 and 120hz) are coming this month; Halo 5 still gets fresh playlists and seasons. These are games released back in 2014 and 2015! Doom 2016 and Eternal really upped the ante for a solid over-the-top twitch-shooter campaign. Prey gave us a much slower-paced, resource-...
If BioWare wants a redemption story, just make Dragon Age and New Mass Effect the stories fans want. EA doesn't deserve to have a happy ending with GaaS-BioWare
Microsoft also has their own Windows Mixed Reality platform that has headsets from nearly every major PC OEM. All were built to work without external cameras and they even had a lot of thought put into the controllers.
Seems like a waste that MS hasn't yet put any of that work into Xbox. And that they didn't do that to start with.
What did they show or say, besides a sentence that they've since clarified (every single time when being asked) as something they aren't focusing on?
Games can render at whatever resolution they need to, but the system just doesn't output at 1440p. Game res is independent of system/output res
From what i remember this is the only other game to run on the OG Halo engine. If it runs at 60fps on switch I'll definitely pick this up, but otherwise this just isn't something I'd want to play on my big TV
Please don't use my post to continue that weird anti-Phil crusade.
Any Crimson Skies players try split screen on the Series consoles? I tried it on One X last year but the bottom player was this glitchy viewport. I wonder if emulation is improved now
Oh the joy if we ever get a new Crimson Skies.
Anyone remember Brute Force?
Why be upset at good things because of something totally unrelated?
I just replayed Halo 3's campaign this week and played two competitive matches on Xbox before starting up with work this morning. The new maps on the PC Flight are also gorgeous as heck. On Social I've had only Halo 3 and 2 Anniversary selected for the last week.
Times I dual-wielded in MP: none
Elites I saw in Competitive: none
Elites I see in Social: whoever the player is that I kill the most
Halo 2/2A/3 are my favorite feeling Halos, bu...
DSO, you really go out of your way to show the chip on your shoulder.
Hellblade 2 is going to be using UE5. Halo is using Slipspace. Bethesda Game Studios is still using their gamebryo engine. Ghost of Tsushima used its own engine. Naughty Dog has their own. Sony Bend used UE4 for Days Gone and Insomniac has their own too.
If Horizon 2 is still on Decima, it's like totally clear Sony has no faith in UE5 either.
Dual Wielding kinda ruined the balance of plasma weapons in Halo 2/3; does anyone *actually* want those back? The pistol also really sucked and the Needler became the one one-handed non-dual-wieldable weapon.
Playable Elites really nerf you in MP; the body shape causes the head to stick out more and makes you an easier target.
Weapon upgrades are a damned-either-way situation. Single-player-only, people will complain it's not in MP. If it's in MP,...
Ratchet and Clank is so gonna make me forget Starfield and Elder Scrolls. Mhmmm
Graphics > Gameplay always, yeah?
