Quick Resume is both fantastic and fantastically disappointing.
Yakuza 0, Ninja Gaiden 2, The Medium, Call of the Sea all gave/are giving me zero issues.
Halo MCC after a day forgets how to refresh matchmaking servers. Halo 5 after a couple days fails to connect to any & all dedicated servers. Doom 3 and Falconeer acted like Quick Resume didn't do anything despite the icon showing. Skyrim FPS Boost and performance hits the shitter after a few hour...
Are you sure you know math?
Xbox's proportion of revenue grew from 14% to 23% relative to the quarter.
PC's proportion shrunk from 30% to 21%
PS grew from 26 to 27%.
For the 12 month period they grew 5% at the same expense of PC's share.
"There our reports are" - for a CEO statement you'd think there'd be some proofreading.
But this isn't confirmation or anything new. He's saying it's being reported; so this article is just... reporting a report of a report
So by "copying" an earlier Resident Evil game, using the character (and perspective) of the previous Resident Evil game, it doesn't feel like Resident Evil?
Just a heads up - this isn't Polygon's writing; it's an excerpt from Schreier's new book Press Reset: Ruin and Recovery.
Launch for Returnal seemed very weird. It is the only game I've tried buying in a store on release day and couldn't, since back in the 360 era when games would have a "ship" date not a "release" date.
None of the Best Buy's in my state had any stock. Meanwhile the store I went to's game cage was stacked with dozens and dozens of copies of Pokémon Snap
It's the third biggest PS5 opening sales, but it's the seventh biggest PS5 first week sales, behind even Sackboy?
... What's the relevance of adding that sentence when today is only its 4th day out?
Maybe this is how we'll finally-maybe see Xbox One sales figures!
So for $700, someone can have an All Digital New Gen.
$400 for the cream of the crop "actual" next-gen (congrats, there are a whopping four titles available now; one's a remake and one's a demo, the fifth comes out in another month).
$300 for a budget side device that plays almost everything else, with a growing list of enhancements for earlier titles.
No one has ever tried labeling the S as a primary console. It is wh...
"Good job on that 5, here's your metacritic bonus!"
Totally not a bad score, not at all
So, did the author feel like this is actually a bad game? The gist I get from the review is that they feel this just shouldn't be a Resident Evil game.
You missed the better quote from the article - they make a comparison to COD :/
But it doesn't sound like RE6 in tone at all fortunately. I'll definitely play through this in Hardcore mode with less ammo/resources
@Darkborn, the PS4 had maybe 15 million max, Sunset Overdrive came out in 2014 and both systems were only out for bout a year.
The game was undermarketed and overshadowed also by Microsoft's eroding reputation and Halo MCC's colossal failure of a launch that same holiday.
@Ted, the performance hit here I didn't mind since it was still over 60fps; the differences are subtle but they bring a certain life to the game.
The face in the wall with the maroon ring eye we have to put in - without RT it looks flat, as if it's lit by the game's base-layer color level, but in the screenshots in the article we see that it's actually illuminated by the nearby lightsource. Simple, but subtle difference.
No crashes here yet - except the cutscene I keep skipping through since I suck so much. Loving this game, surely whatever issues are from this patch will get fixed up quickly.
I played on PS5 and PC over the weekend - RT off gave performance constantly north of 120fps @ 1440p Max Settings on a Ryzen 7 3700X w/ 2070 Super.
My preorder went to PC. This game feels they could easily give a 120fps mode to the new consoles if they didn't insist on targeting 4K.
Edit - RT On basically halves performance on PC. 130-144hz Off, 75ish On. I had one odd spot outside in the grass where performance slowed to mid-40s then went north of 60...
That's irrelevant to the issue of 2-3 hour runs without being able to save and stop. The author isn't complaining about skill - they're complaining about the inability to just play something else or turn your system off. And if your system auto-updates in Rest Mode and you put it in Rest before bed, it closes the game and you restart.
Hades has like 40 minute runs and no save functionality. That's a lot easier to get away with than something most reviewers a...
Loving 343's monthly updates; saying all the right things especially here in this one. These guys heading the PC team are very confident and aware in what they've built.
"I think we’ll have some of the best ultrawide support I’ve ever seen in a game." "99% of the time we know the playtest feedback before we even get the results, so we’re very in-tune with how the PC features we’re building will be received."
There shouldn'...
Dynamic* 1080p 30. Performance Mode is a Dynamic 4K 60. Ray Tracing means the game is rendering 1/8th the pixel output... Damn.
And here Metro Exodus is aiming for 4K60 with RT, assumed dynamic but still. RE Village gets close-enough to it with their limited RT too. The trailer really doesn't make it seem this has any open areas either.
PC experienced a sharp decline, is now below Xbox when for the quarter they used to be 2x higher.
Switch went from 4% below Xbox and is now 10% below.
Clearly Ubisoft should #CancelXbox
