Sadly, some did say that, but happily for us, they're wrong.
Only if that strategic move is games so good that they somehow undo years of Sony first party excellence. I do hope they show great games, but they can't really hope to steal thunder from Sony.
The Last of Us Part II has been highly successful.
Looking forward to a third at some point.

Oh for sure - not giving up on it - in fact I think it's getting better. There are some things I really like and some minor gripes but it's definitely a great game.
I know I just said it was "okay" a few hours ago, but it's growing on me. I still feel the same as before, but again, it's growing on me and I'm appreciating it more.
I agree.
I think it's remarkably... okay.
But, it's still enjoyable, and I think it's definitely worth continuing.
I don't know if I'll replay it, but since I own it, I'll probably get a look at the enhancements. May do another run on a higher difficulty.
This will make a lot of fans happy, surely.
No, he doesn't.
His posts are virtually non-stop griping, grousing, and complaining.
So, just because something is visible means it should be climbable or able to be explored? Let's look at the context and see what works, what doesn't, and what Sucker Punch are trying to achieve.
From a developer standpoint, it's very hard to make everything you see traversable, explorable, and on top of that, actually worthy of exploration and traversal. Moreover, Jin is a Samurai bound by certain human constraints (by design) that Link isn't, such as climb...

You could be onto something there; that today's developers feel (born from nostalgia) like they have an obligation to be nice to anything Nintendo because Nintendo was the pillar of their childhood gaming experience. Same goes for reviewers who loved Nintendo as children and still do. Could a bias from childhood be influencing their present day critiques and causing them to, perhaps irrationally, give a nod to something they otherwise wouldn't?
Sony's first party games 'are' the gold standard, and they're the gold standard because historically, for the most part, they've been of a very high quality.
It may seem unfair at times, but it's natural, really. PlayStation exclusives are 'expected' to be better; they're expected to break ground, expected to push boundaries, and expected to utterly captivate.
For me, the writing was on the wall with Ghost of Tsushima,...
Why does this game have to "live up to" or be Breath of the Wild in any way?
I've heard enough about Breath of the Wild at this point, and after actually playing it not too long ago, I fail to see what's so compelling - I really do. I don't think it warrants all this ceremony. I think it does some things very well, but I don't think it breaks any ground, that's for sure.
That said, what the hell does this have to do with Ghos...
I don't see a problem with that comment.
I could see how that comment could irritate you if you reached to find some sort of offensive connotation. People who are too caught up in politics take offense to comments like that. I get it, but it doesn't personally offend me.
I honestly just think you're upset because someone didn't give this game a glowing score. My conclusion is based on seeing other posts of yours (like the Telegraph review)...
You'd think they would have done the opposite and left the Abstergo crap out?
I couldn't give a damn about Layla, or any other nonsense animus crap.
Bodacious.
I personally find eurogamer to be on point with their reviews.
I've never read a review by them, or watched the video version thinking that they were too nitpicky, too generous, had a grudge, etc.
I've always felt that they're just honest about how they feel, and that's something I appreciate.
What a ridiculous world.
IT'S A VIDEO GAME ATTACK DOG.
I'm killing it.
Didn't even get a "Recommended" stamp, but that's fine. This is a map clearing, action-combat game and that's exactly what I expected.
Looking forward to it.
Agreed.
That'd be something.
They've gotten so political that they've forgotten their reason for existing, which was once, gaming. Now, it's all about games satisfying their political will, instead of just being a good video game.
I agree - they've totally lost their way.
This is definitely their greatest technical achievement and probably my favorite game they've made. Great score - well deserved.
