Spiderman looked good, but I thought it was Demon's Souls that looked particularly next-gen. Then, the mere announcement of the new God of War eclipsed that.
That's just sexy.
You 'really' think that Valhalla looks like a PS3 game? So you're saying that the Eivor character model detail looks equal to that of Ezio from AC 2? That's really what you believe?
Valhalla may not look too impressive for a late, current gen game, but to say it looks like a PS3 game is intellectually dishonest and dramatic as Fishy said.
Ezio: https:/...
Do the animations look stiff and low-budgety or is that just me?
We'll be alright.
Hopefully the workers can keep up with the assembly line.
Yeah it really looks great overall. So much going on and the performance never seemed to falter.
This is how you launch a console.
Long live Lewis.
I can't believe some of you.
You're still thinking about 16 and 32k?
I've been at 68 for awhile now.
The game succeeded, but 'they' (the haters) failed.
Seems like they didn't make any real headway in their efforts to bring it down. This sort of news has to sting. Another great masterpiece indeed and with great sales.
Great news.
I'm currently playing Control and enjoying the game and story. I'm pleased to know, officially, that Control is part of the Alan Wake universe. I loved AW and I love Control and this lore and world.
Good stuff.
That looks fantastic.
Great support by Naughty Dog.
What's frustrating is that Microsoft actually 'can' compete, but they're choosing not to do it, or they're choosing to do it 'their' way, which is not the way many of us prefer.
They can easily acquire talent, shore it up, and be a force to be reckoned with first-party-wise, but they're making their money 'their way' and that may be fortunate for them, but for us not so much.
I want first-party creativity, and I wan...
The animus sucks.
It made sense in the first few games, but now people just want to play in these periods without the annoying, immersion breaking animus stuff.
If they feel it's absolutely necessary to include the animus/present day as part of overall narrative, they should try to find a way that doesn't include the player needing to engage with it.
An instant classic, imo.
While I agree generally agree with you, Hot Chips is precisely for discussing this technical stuff. This isn't Phil Spencer or Albert Penello or Aaron Greenberg trying to hype people with technical buzz terms.
Nobody's being forced into any direction, but I'm much more inclined to get a PS5 out of the gate and consider an SX when they have something of note down the line.
If anything, Microsoft is nudging people toward PlayStation with their bland showings, but I know I'm going to get plenty of great games with Sony's console.
Microsoft just isn't moving fast enough for me with unique or fresh first party games. That needle's been on ...
Now with more and faster loading grass.
I'm still using my TB XP500s from ages ago. They're from the 360/PS3 era and have never let me down. I do believe I had to buy a cord that granted them compatibility with PS4 and XB1 though.
I may just buy a new headset soon, but I don't really need to.
@Clay
Yeah man, that one definitely needs to be PS5 only; we saw how much GoW pushed the PS4 and Pro in 2018. God of War is too special for anything less than being built "from the ground up" for PS5.
