Great news considering the new consoles use AMD power. Even better news for my laptop which has an AMD APU combo :)
This is because studios have completely unrealistic expectations for games and invest way too much money into their development. There is NO efficiency in most of these large studios, that's why they lose money.
A small team of highly talented people with a moderate budget and easily turn out a "AAA" game given the right environment. They don't need (and shouldn't need) teams of 50+ and $10's of millions...
The fact that they even thought of this and actually announced it concerns my and the future of the Xbox brand. It took almost every media outlet going crazy over their ridiculous online requirements for MS to change the policy...clearly they are doing it for the money, not the gamers.
Too little, too late. This should have never been a policy to begin with. My money will be staying on my PS4 pre-order.
Assuming Sony can actually release the PS4 in early October, it would make perfect sense. Release the console October 1st (Tuesday), it sells millions within the first week/month. BUT then Black Friday comes up about 1.5 months later, just as hype may be dying down for the PS4 launch. The Xbox One will be launching sometime in November which would give Sony plenty of time to build up a new campaign just in time for Black Friday, reigniting sales.

Sony confirmed that third-parties will be able to implement online passes and such if they so desire. BUT, if $10 is all it costs to get online, then that isn't a huge deal if you're buying used.
I'm sorry, but Online Passes do NOT equal DRM. Those servers have to be maintained, content is constantly being pushed out for online multiplayer, it's only natural that buying the game used will require paying a $10 fee to play online.
I can still give TLOU to a friend and they can play through the singleplayer all they want. And THAT'S what matters most.
Agreed, though this is probably one of the less frustrating issues with the X1. Most 360 owners have their own headsets that came with the console. But it just goes to show how much fail MS is doing this generation out of the gate...
And for the record, the PS4 comes with a headset (mono) and HDMI cable. Nothing amazing, just further proof that Sony really is trying to give *gamers* what they need this new generation.
Looking at the kickstarter, it doesn't look like they are on pace to hit their goal. Perhaps if it was $100,000? That, or if it actually had "SOCOM" in the name, but sadly Sony owns that IP.

Considering the PS4 isn't available for pre-order yet...it's kind of like winning a race against yourself ;)
Until Monday, we don't really have a clear picture, but I like what Sony is doing with the PS4, specifically the touchpad and lightbar on the new Dualshock 4. That, coupled with [proper] remote play support for PS4<->Vita, and the new PS Eye, I'm anxious to see what Sony and their first-party developers have in-store for us.

Nintendo started out as a playing card company in 1889. They didn't get into the video game business until 1974...
And really it comes down to their shareholders and what will make the most money for the company as a whole.

Honestly, I'm awaiting the day Nintendo becomes a third-party developer and starts releasing their games on other consoles. Just think of the money they could make...
@ Mika - I couldn't care less about how many bubbles I have, but thank you. And you hit the nail right on the head with your comment: Nintendo continues to release the same games each year. Granted, they usually put a lot of effort into those games, but you can clearly see with the Wii and now Wii U that third-party support is dwindling. Nintendo clearly has a completely different audience in mind compared to Sony and Microsoft, whether they want to admit that or not.
Nintendo isn't even in the race this year. And I don't say that to be negative, but lets be honest: Sony and Microsoft have ALL of the spotlights and press on them this year. Nintendo launched the Wii U last fall and it's been a luke-warm reception at best. They had their chance and now it's time for some proper next-gen consoles to be revealed.
