Sadly pirating plagues nearly all consoles, the PSP and DS included. But if the 1 in 100 survey has any truth to it, the PSP currently has 20,000,000 units out there (roughly) and 1 in 100 would still mean there's a possibility to sell AT LEAST 200,000 copies. 200,000 x $40 = $8,000,000. Of course you'll have to take off developer wages, marketing, etc. But Ubisoft has the assets already. They could easily make this for a couple million tops and easily make a profit. Say after the 200,0...
I saw screens of the DS version and the game was just not meant to be on the DS *imho*. Seeing developers have done with PSP games like God of War: Chains of Olympus, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. The hardware is there and i really think the game could look good and play even better.
Well, HD DVD is pretty much dead. But i don't see how this can hurt (having the petition). Capcom took notice of the Resident Evil petition, even if the game doesn't come out immediately, it's a start.
The number of signatures has jumped roughly 500 since QJ.net posted the article.
*Edit: thanks everyone who has signed. We've gained 1,000+ signatures today so far and it's only been 13 hours since the article was posted over at QJ. Debating whether or not to contact Ubisoft when it reaches 5,000 or to wait for it to hit 10,000...suggestions?
The only major problem this game had was the exclusion of online play...
I, for one, am getting tired of these Special Editions that barely contain anything worth the extra $10+. So far, the ONLY SE that was priced right and worth while was Stranglehold on the PS3 (which is $40 on amazon, just checked).

The whole point for Konami to bring MGS4 to the 360 would be $. It wouldn't make sense to build MGS4 from the ground up on another console that has a low install-base, meaning MGS4 on MS's next console is a no-go. The 360 has 15+ million units out there (according to some sites at least). It would be much cheaper to port what the PS3 version has, dumb down the graphics just a *bit*, and add perhaps a new playable character or something. Likely depends on the sales of ...
Couldn't have typed it better myself.
"Contrary to unsubstantiated rumors from unnamed sources, Universal's current plan is to continue to support the HD DVD format," said Ken Graffeo, executive vice president of HD strategic marketing for Universal Studios Home Entertainment and also co-president of the HD DVD Promotional Group.
Their "CURRENT" plan is to continue to support HD DVD, likely meaning their contract isn't up for who knows how lon...
There's a petition out trying to bring Assassin's Creed to the PSP. It's a logical choice (PSP) considering the capabilities of the handheld compared to the DS. I just don't see this working if it is fully 3D.
One question we have to ask...when Blizzard releases their new MMO, what will they do with WoW? I'm hoping they drop the subscription fee to $9.99 or perhaps less, that way people can play both MMOs ;)
I think at this point, with Warner Bros. siding with Blu-ray, MS can throw as much money as they want but the industry has basically decided upon a format. Paramount will likely jump ship after it's contract is up, same with Universal.
Lol, no imagine playing it in English and actually knowing what's going on. Can't wait, between God of War and FFVII:CC, no need to buy any other games for a few months.
My only concern is that God of War: Chains of Olympus is coming out at the same time i believe...
This can be played in just about any web browser, it's actually quite fun.
Exact same story as the one posted on Joystiq...quite sad. Sorry for posting this, didn't know it was word for word.
Piracy is a problem, but there are still far more people purchasing games than pirating. And usually, those that pirate wouldn't buy the games anyway.
I was thinking the same thing. I was playing the Burnout Paradise demo yesterday and the only time there was music was during the actual races. But it looks as though we'll now have plenty of much to listen to even while crusin'.
So this further proves that they've had at least a handful of maps ready to go before the game released and yet they are now charging us 800 points for 3 maps...i'll save my money and wait for them to release them for free since they should have been included on the game disc (at least the LE or Legendary discs would have made sense).
Take Bioshocks Vital Chamber's and allow players to save anywhere in game except for battles and you have what i believe is an ideal save system. This especially applies to the PSP and DS. I'm tired of playing and then not being able to save when i get to head to class.
Assassination on the go would be great. Looking back at the GTA games on the PSP, it should definitely be possible to make Assassin's Creed on the PSP with streaming tech. Obviously the graphics won't be as nice as the next-gen versions but they'll still look good. The number of AI on screen will be toned down a bit but not by much. Less people amongst the crowd, but that's understandable.
