I'm curious on two points.
First, if Sony did release a download version of the emulator, what would that do to early PS3's considering that all firmware is mandatory to all users. I'm curious if they would have to fix it to scan for the emotion chip or the existing emulator, or would it just not effect anything.
Two (and this is more a dream) I want them to add "Region Unlock" to the emulators and existing PS3 consoles that have BC. It's possible to ...
Why can't they just headline "Why 2009 will be a great year for the PS3." That would seem less instigating.
Honestly thought I havn't heard from the "no PS3 games" argument in a while. Since mid-last year. I find it unnessisary to reiterate the great quality of the software line up for 2009 as you would have to be a fool/fanboy (same thing) not to see it.
As a more "hardcore" street fighter fan I was personally hoping for more insight to the new characters (Sakura etc) to see how well the stack into Street Fighter 4's already balanced (for the most part) tiers.
It would have also been nice to see if any balance issues were done. The was very balanced before with a few exceptions. Changes could go as simple as a damage buff for Vega, to more more complex change of fixing the coding on Akuma's Raging Demon Ultra (hon...
The mentioned favorites are wonderful games to say the least. A certian N64 game showed up twice and for good reason.
It would be exstremely hard for me to pick a favorite. Even most gamers list there top 5 or 10.
However, if I had to choose one, I would definatly say Shadow of the Colossus. The emotions it inspires, the scope, the feel. No game for me has ever spurd me with such feeling. A simple task to accomplish above all else, the loneliness of the jour...
I think Sony is keeping things under wraps for a few good reasons.
The one I think is most important, are the gamers themselves. It wouldnt be so bad if gamers could know what's coming, see what Sony has to say about the game, and then wait. Oh no. Once the gamers/media find out about the game the internet is flooded with leaked footage, mechanics, story, and other information.
Gamers want to know every little detail about the game and that's fine there is nothi...
It always boils down to matter of controls. The PC may be the home of the RTS, however the RTS genre could easily find a home on consoles if it wasn't for the controls.
Even though consoles now can support Keyboard and Mouse features the devs behind the game can not solely depend on everyone having one. So they must create a layout on the controller that works with the game they are trying to make.
So far no headway has been made to make the RTS more playabl...
May I ask why you didn't like it? I personally found it enjoyable, except for my horrid online connection.
The growth and "floatability" of a industry are very different.
The growth can do doupt be accounted for by the open of the casual market. However, I personally believe that the "core gamer" will keep the industry from going under.
When the chips are down, the economy is bad, many is difficult to spend the casual audiance will go back to what they were doing before video games and drop gaming all together until things are better.

I agree. I would love the re-release (not nessessarily a remake) of Third Strike for the consoles.
Wud U prfur I tlk lik dis?
I'm here to talk about Super Turbo and games in general, not get a lesson in Grahmer. If you have nothing constructive to add about Super Turbo, then please save yourself the post.
The game desirves it. The development team has worked hard on this title. Hopefully this will help Capcom deside wether or not this game is worth future patches, or even trophies.
I agree that the DualShock D-Pad is better suited and located on the controller for Fighter games.
However, I would like to stress that this game (although made simpler for D-Pad users) should be played with an Arcade Stick.
There are many models availabe for both systems, you can even purchase a custom made stick if you look hard enough.
In the end it comes down to what you are more comfortable in using. I personally grew up on the D-Pad. Expo...
Free Radical closed?
That's ashame as there was alot of potential and talent in that developer.
As for Battle Front 3: I dont know how far the game was in development at Free Radical, but I wonder what in the game would be effected by that switch.
I'm personally hoping for a more in depth unit custimization feature.
I understand where the reviewer is coming from, but it's honestly the wrong direction.
This game puts a rebalance and a refinish on a game that is 15 years old. Everyone knew that his game was supposed to be for those familiar with Street Fighter and it's workings. Even if not, there is a gateway for newer players in the form of reworked balance and easier move exicution.
"Take away the main graphics and well known characters..." ?
People lov...
I want to remain naive enough to believe that the world isn't like that, although your theory is sound.
However, I honestly think fumitsu is playing it safe with an "above average" score. If the game succeeds and they gave it a low score they would lose more credit. If they score it high and the game underperforms again they lose credit.
I just think they don't know where to put it or what to think of it so they play it safe.
Of all the videos of games not due for release months from now, I would honestly like some video of the new characters in action.
Nice scans though.
Quite honestly, I'm not worried.
Famitsu is more known for rating higher the more traditional RPG's. Also they tend to give the greater score to the series that are more known, (Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, etc)
This below expected score could mean that Level 5 did what it wanted to do in creating a JRPG experience that would be enjoyed by Western gamers. A game not seen as overly cliche' or traditional. Of course we all know that the traditional JRPG hasn't do...
I have seen issues from both versions. Music cutting out on the Xbox360 as well as a Glitch that the messes with the round count and lifebars (not sure if this is common on the Ps3 as well). The PS3 does have the connection issue with noticable lag. (Scower Youtube videos and you shall see examples of all glitches)
Why they didn't do a beta test for the PS3, I'll never know. The two consoles are two different beasts. It was illogical to assume that they would handle online...
The game does live up to it's ledgendary prowess and the new balance features make alot of sence.
The only trouble I have with it is going online. I've always had a hard time going online with any game. It's not connnection its more just me, which is ashame since I've been waiting to play real people in a fighter like this for years.
Now that is how Jedi should fight.
Since this Lucas liscens I'm sure they will ship the production to another company or keep the team that was creating it and finish the product.
Or the game could have been started over again...from scratch. Personaly I think it would be one hell of a nod to Free Radical if the game that hits store shelves is the one that they had in mind.
